The landslide occurred at nearly midnight on December 3, in Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, when soil and rock from the positive slope suddenly slid onto the road surface. This area is located right on the temporary bypass - where a serious landslide had occurred - from Km226+500 to Km226+800.

That very night, the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Province coordinated with relevant units to organize traffic flow and temporarily stop traffic at both ends of the pass to ensure safety.

According to Lam Dong Department of Construction, the landslide from the positive slope slid down to the area Km226+500 to Km226+800, extending nearly 100 m from near the top of the hill down to the road surface. Through preliminary inspection, there were no cracks or subsidence at the top of the hill, however water still flowed continuously along the landslide.
