
Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh inspected Lien Huong commune, a locality that was heavily flooded.
Previously, on the afternoon of December 3, the water level in the upper reaches of Long Song River increased. By the night and early morning of December 4, the Tuy Phong branch of the Irrigation Works Exploitation Company announced a flood discharge of nearly 1,200 m3/s, causing widespread flooding, causing 13 boats anchored at Lien Huong port to sink, 25 boats to drift, 100 hectares of agricultural land on both sides of Long Song River to be flooded to a depth of 1.5m, 1,000 households to be flooded to a depth of 1 - 1.5m, with initial estimated damage of 30 billion VND.

During the inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh visited and encouraged the affected people. He acknowledged the proactive evacuation and initial rescue spirit of the Lien Huong commune government; at the same time, reminded the local Party Committee and government to ensure adequate living conditions for affected households, promptly review and assess the level of impact to promptly propose support plans.
The working group then continued to inspect the flooding situation in Ham Thuan, Ham Liem communes and Ham Thang ward. According to the report, due to water flowing from upstream combined with flood discharge from Song Quao lake, many areas were deeply flooded and partially isolated.

In Ham Liem commune, 300 houses were flooded, 280 households were evacuated; in Song Luy commune, about 200 houses were flooded, 15 households were evacuated; in Ham Thuan commune, 809 houses were flooded, 55 households were evacuated; in Ham Thang ward, 3 neighborhoods of Kim Binh, Kim Ngoc and Thang Hiep were flooded, 30 households were evacuated.
Localities have ensured food, drinking water and necessities at evacuation points.

At the destinations, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh requested local authorities to proactively respond according to the "4 on-site" motto; put up warning signs, stretch ropes, and barricades in dangerous areas; proactively evacuate people to safe places; arrange forces and vehicles to be on duty 24/7 to respond and handle incidents.
He emphasized that it is necessary to ensure basic necessities for people, absolutely not allowing hunger or water shortages to occur; at the same time, only allowing people to return home when safety is guaranteed.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh also requested localities to urgently carry out evacuation work in high-risk areas; irrigation and hydroelectric dams must regulate water appropriately to ensure safety for downstream areas.
On December 5, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh and the working delegation continued to work in the communes of Ham Thang, Ham Thuan Bac, Bac Binh, Song Luy, Ham Kiem, Ham Thuan Nam, and Tan Lap.
