This is the commitment of Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Protection (in charge of managing and operating the Nursing, Rehabilitation - Child Support and Support for the Disabled) to the leaders of the Ministry of Health during his visit and gift giving to disabled children on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3) on the afternoon of December 4.

According to Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan, in 2025, the Center provided care, treatment and rehabilitation to more than 1,000 disabled children; maintained regular care for 217 inpatient, semi-inpatient and outpatient children. Therapeutic activities recorded more than 17,200 physical therapy sessions, 18,480 special education sessions, and 20,139 regular medical care sessions. The rate of rehabilitation and nutritional improvement reached 100% for children under treatment.

“As a nursing and rehabilitation facility under the Ministry of Health, the Center is committed to maintaining comprehensive care quality while expanding specialized services to support people with disabilities to develop their maximum potential,” affirmed Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan.

Along with the results of professional activities, the Center also implemented many community support programs such as examining and evaluating children at the facility, mobilizing social resources, organizing International Children's Day, International Day of People with Disabilities, Christmas festivals, Lunar New Year, etc. Thereby, the Center has attracted thousands of children and families to participate in therapeutic play activities. Charity groups, businesses and philanthropists have accompanied and supported many essential items for children with disabilities.

In 2026, the Center aims to care for and treat hundreds of disabled children; expand skills and career guidance programs for children; build a pilot model for elderly care; organize professional training for officials and workers; increase the application of technology and continue to standardize professional processes as required by the Ministry of Health.

Visiting and giving gifts to disabled children at the Center, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, Deputy Minister of Health visited and encouraged the leaders, doctors, teachers and nurses of the Center.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong also learned about the operation situation at the center before and after the transfer from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (formerly) to the Ministry of Health. At the same time, the Deputy Minister also informed about some situations of the Ministry of Health related to units, including the Center for Nursing, Rehabilitation - Child Support and Support for People with Disabilities; issues related to approving the completion of functions, tasks and organizational structure; supplementing professional human resources, especially doctors and rehabilitation technicians; supporting investment in facilities and equipment to better meet the care and rehabilitation needs of people with disabilities.
