From Quang Tri to An Giang, proactively respond to tropical depression near the East Sea

On December 6, the Head of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 38/CD-BCĐ-BNNMT to the People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Tri to An Giang; the Ministries of National Defense, Public Security, Agriculture and Environment, Construction, Industry and Trade, Foreign Affairs, Science and Technology; Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television, and Voice of Vietnam on proactively responding to the tropical depression near the East Sea.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a tropical depression is currently active in the sea east of the central Philippines. At 1 p.m. on December 6, the center of the tropical depression was at about 11.8 degrees North latitude, 125.9 degrees East longitude; the strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was at level 6, gusting to level 8; moving west at a speed of 5-10 km/h, expected to enter the sea east of the central East Sea.

To proactively respond to the tropical depression, the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense requested the People's Committees of the above provinces, cities and ministries and branches to closely monitor the development of the tropical depression; strictly manage the means of transport going to sea; organize the counting and notify the owners of the means of transport, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of ​​the location, direction of movement and development of the tropical depression so that they can proactively avoid, escape or not move into the dangerous area.

Dangerous areas in the next 48 hours: from latitude 10.5-13.0 degrees North, east of longitude 118.0 degrees East (dangerous areas are adjusted in forecast bulletins); be ready with forces and means to deploy rescue work when situations arise.

Ministries and branches, according to their functions, state management tasks and assigned tasks, proactively direct and coordinate with localities to respond to tropical depressions.

Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, the coastal information station system and mass media agencies from central to local levels should increase information on the developments of the tropical depression to authorities at all levels, owners of vehicles operating at sea and people to proactively respond.

The above units organize serious duty and regularly report to the National Civil Defense Steering Committee (through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ).
