(DTO) Recently, in My Tho ward, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Dieu chaired a meeting with leaders of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and departments and branches to discuss the Project to build Dong Thap into a pioneering and model province in ecological agriculture, modern countryside, and civilized farmers and people.

At the meeting, delegates highly agreed on the necessity and viewpoint of building the project because agriculture and rural areas play a strategic role in the country and Dong Thap is a key agricultural province.

The project sets the goal by 2030 as follows: Developing ecological agriculture in Dong Thap to level 4; building a modern, prosperous countryside with a synchronous and harmoniously connected infrastructure system and forming a civilized, qualified and responsible farmer force.

Delegates contributed many important ideas to increase the feasibility of the project. In order for the project to achieve economic , social and environmental efficiency, delegates agreed on 7 breakthrough tasks and solutions including: Raising awareness of innovative thinking in developing ecological agriculture - modern countryside - civilized farmers; applying advanced science, technology and digital technology; developing modern countryside associated with urbanization; building a highly knowledgeable farmer force; perfecting agricultural policies to a high level; effectively responding to climate change and maximizing resources with the expected investment capital for the 2025-2030 period being 5,700 billion VND.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Dieu requested relevant departments and branches to continue to complete the content of the project in the most feasible direction to submit to the Central Government, at the same time serving as a basis for strongly developing the agricultural, farmer and rural sectors associated with socio-economic development until 2030, with a vision to 2050, so that Dong Thap province can meet the standards of an advanced new rural province, contributing to the successful implementation of the resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
