Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Van Quan and the working delegation surveyed the Soi culvert - an important irrigation project built in 2020 to replace the old culvert on the right dike of the Thai Binh River. Currently, this project is ensuring irrigation for more than 200 hectares of agricultural land, contributing to proactively regulating water for the exploitation of earthworms and clams. The Soi culvert and the irrigation system that have been invested in over the years are showing clear effectiveness. Timely and flexible water regulation helps to stabilize the living environment for earthworms and clams - special aquatic species that require strict natural conditions. This is an important basis for the development of organic and sustainable agriculture in riverside localities.

On average, each hectare of earthworms yields 1.5 tons, with a selling price of 250,000 - 300,000 VND/kg, farmers can earn 400 - 500 million VND/ha.
Chi Minh Commune is currently one of the city's key production areas with 478 hectares of land for cultivating earthworms and clams combined with rice cultivation in the area within the Thai Binh River dike. This is also a pioneering locality in applying organic farming models, taking advantage of the natural ecosystem, contributing to improving product quality and protecting the environment.
