This is considered an important step to expand the "trade door" for the locality, creating a foundation for strong development of sea tourism and attracting international visitors with high spending levels. is an important "lever" for the province to attract shipping lines, international tourist routes and high-class tourist groups.

Quang Tri owns nearly 200 km of coastline, along with a diverse ecosystem and rich tourism resources, from eco-tourism - nature, culture - history to marine sports, agriculture and high-end resorts. In the context that the locality is prioritizing attracting the international cruise market, being allowed to apply e-visas at major ports is a "key" condition for Quang Tri to increase its competitiveness compared to other destinations in the region.

LE LAPÉROUSE is one of the luxury ships bringing tourists to Quang Tri, docking at Hon La port.

Many foreign tourists staying in the Central region expressed their excitement at this news. Mr. Michael D., a tourist from Australia, shared: “I used to want to travel by sea along the Central region, but the procedural issues made me hesitant. Now that Quang Tri has applied e-visa at the ports, traveling has become easier. I really hope to be able to set foot in one of Quang Tri's seaports soon on my upcoming trip.”

Quang Tri is becoming an “emerging destination” on the Southeast Asian sea tourism map: I have seen pictures of Quang Tri sea and famous historical, cultural and scenic sites. If ships can dock conveniently with e-visas, this will definitely be a destination that international tourists cannot miss… Mr. Michael D. shared.

For travel agencies exploiting tourists to Quang Tri, the expanded e-visa policy will help them easily build new tourism products, connect international tours and high-end cruise routes. “With Hon La and Cua Viet ports being invested in and upgraded, plus open policies, Quang Tri can completely welcome large ships in the near future.

According to statistics of Quang Binh province, up to this point (11.2025), the number of tourists reached more than 9.19 million arrivals, an increase of 17.2% over the same period; of which international visitors increased by 42.8%. The expansion of e-visa shows the expectation that Quang Tri will continue to grow strongly, especially in the segment of international visitors with high spending ability - a group of tourists considered an important driving force of the modern tourism industry.
