National Assembly Chairman: Vietnam continues to be a trusted destination for scientists

The National Assembly Chairman said that the theme of this year's award is " Together we rise - Together we prosper " as a strong global call for development, in the spirit of solidarity, progress, sharing, creating opportunities for all people and all nations. It is also the spirit of overcoming knowledge limits, promoting global cooperation and bringing practical benefits to humanity.

" Looking back at the past 5 years, we can affirm that this Award not only honors outstanding scientific works but also creates valuable dialogues and forums between scientists, businesses and policymakers. From there, new ideas, new approaches, new cooperation models are opened up and widely spread, " the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.

After 5 seasons, there have been more than 6,000 nominations sent from nearly 110 countries and territories on all 5 continents. 48 outstanding scientists have been honored, who lead the most important scientific trends such as: Artificial Intelligence, clean energy, biotechnology, new materials, precision medicine, food security.

" I acknowledge, appreciate and sincerely thank the persistent efforts, commitment and high responsibility of the founders of the Fund. Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong and his wife have devoted their heart and great resources to promoting the science award, contributing to spreading the humanistic values of science and bringing to the world the image of the country and people of Vietnam as rich in intelligence, compassion and will and aspiration for development ," said the National Assembly Chairman.

This year, the Award continued to record the number of nominations with 1,705 profiles, nearly 3 times higher than the first season. The National Assembly Chairman assessed that the scientific works all demonstrated strong innovative thinking and pioneering creativity.

These research projects will continue to inspire and strengthen society's belief in the power of science and technology in solving pressing global problems.

According to the National Assembly Chairman, the world is facing many complex changes. Climate change, epidemics, energy security, food security, economic fluctuations and even unknown risks from science, technology and new techniques require each country to find a suitable path for development.

" Science can only truly flourish when there is deep, equal and sustainable international cooperation ," the National Assembly Chairman stated.

In recent times, the Party and State of Vietnam have issued many important policies of historical significance, marking new development milestones such as: Innovation in thinking in law-making and enforcement, identifying law-making as "a breakthrough of breakthroughs" - developing science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation - international integration in the new situation - developing the private economy, education and training, healthcare...

In particular, according to the National Assembly Chairman, Resolution 57 of the Politburo identifies science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as key driving forces of the new development stage.

The National Assembly also passed Resolution 193, paving the way for specific experimental mechanisms, aiming to create a more open creative space for intellectuals, and more favorable conditions for scientists and businesses to implement ideas and inventions, serving practical requirements.

The National Assembly Chairman stated that Vietnam wishes to work with the world's scientific community to promote cooperation in researching common issues of humanity, promote academic exchanges, train high-quality human resources, cooperate in technology transfer, and implement green and inclusive development models.

" We are ready to accompany countries, organizations, and research institutes in the spirit of openness, responsibility, and mutual respect. Vietnam will continue to be a reliable and attractive destination for scientists so that creative values can be shared and spread strongly to the international community.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed: Developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation is not only a choice, but also a vital path. Vietnam is committed to building a transparent legal environment, creating favorable conditions for innovation models to be deployed effectively and safely, contributing positively to the development of the region and the world, " said the National Assembly Chairman.
