Ho Chi Minh City National University announces the 2026 capacity assessment exam schedule

Ho Chi Minh City National University informed that the 2026 capacity assessment exam will be held in two sessions, taking place in April and May.

Specifically, the first round will be held on April 5, 2026, candidates will register for the exam from January 24 to February 23, 2026, and the results will be announced on April 17, 2026.

Phase 2 takes place on May 24, 2026, accepting registration from April 18 to April 25, 2026, results announced on June 6, 2026.

This exam continues to be implemented in 15 provinces and cities (after the merger), including: Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, An Giang , Can Tho, Ca Mau, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong and Dak Lak.

The 2026 exam structure remains stable with 120 multiple choice questions, with a test duration of 150 minutes. In particular, the Language Use section includes Vietnamese and English with 60 questions, Mathematics has 30 questions, Logic - Data Analysis and Problem Solving includes 30 questions with types of requirements requiring candidates to apply data, determine experimental results or predict laws.

By 2025, 111 higher education institutions will use the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam for admission.
