Nissan launches Kait 2026 urban SUV, replacing Kicks once sold in Vietnam

Recently, Nissan has launched a new urban SUV called Kait 2026. This model will replace the Kicks Play, the successor version of Kicks sold in Vietnam.

Recently, Nissan has officially introduced a major upgrade of the urban SUV in the Brazilian market called Nissan Kait 2026, the replacement version of Kicks that was sold in the Vietnamese market. This is the third comprehensive improvement since the model was first launched globally in 2016.

Accordingly, Nissan Kait will be produced at the Resende factory and exported to more than 20 South American markets from 2026. The car has dimensions of 4,304 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width, 1,611 mm in height and a wheelbase of 2,620 mm and customers have six exterior color options.

The 2026 Nissan Kait is developed on the same V-platform as the Kicks Play but has a completely new design. The front of the car impresses with its layered LED lights, dynamic DRL strips and large grille. New wheels make the overall look more modern, while the rear stands out with connected taillights and the "KAIT" lettering placed in the middle of the trunk door to increase recognition.

Although positioned as an entry-level SUV, the new 2026 Nissan Kait still has a fairly comprehensive equipment list for the South American market. The car comes in four versions including Active, Sense Plus, Advance Plus and Exclusive.

Notable equipment includes a 7-inch digital dashboard, a 9-inch Pioneer entertainment screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly, wireless phone charging, digital automatic air conditioning, a 360-degree camera and adaptive cruise control. The power of the Nissan Kait comes from a 1.6L naturally aspirated, 16-valve engine with flexible fuel support. Power reaches 113 horsepower when using ethanol and 110 horsepower when using gasoline, torque is 149 Nm and 146 Nm respectively. The CVT gearbox is retained from the Kicks Play.

It is noteworthy that the 2026 Nissan Kait in the North American market continues to use the V Platform chassis platform, which has accompanied the brand since 2010, but has a completely new design.

In Brazil, the 2026 Nissan Kait has a starting price of 117,990 real (equivalent to about 602 million VND), this new generation SUV is expected to officially start selling in the next few weeks.

When it goes on sale, the Nissan Kait will be positioned to compete with popular rivals such as the Hyundai Creta or Kia Sonet. The model has begun production at the Resende plant in Brazil and will be exported to more than 20 South American markets from 2026.
