Vietnam's tea industry is facing many challenges, including the impacts of climate change, weak production linkages along the value chain, exports mainly in the form of raw materials, limited promotion and advertising, and a lack of strong brands.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested that ministries, branches and localities, including Lam Dong province, continue to promote the restructuring of the tea industry; implement the project to develop industrial crops, including tea, towards large-scale production, applying high technology, diversifying products to meet international models; focusing on building and developing strong brands of the Vietnamese tea industry...
Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van informed that with the theme "Connecting the essence of tea of humanity", the 2025 International Tea Festival will be held for the first time in Vietnam, taking place from December 5 to 7 in Da Lat, Bao Loc and some typical tea growing areas of the province. During the festival days, people and tourists will experience a series of rich activities: International Tea Exhibition Fair, Summit on Sustainable Development of Tea Industry, Tea Music Festival, Diplomatic Tea Program, Street Festival and colorful tea cultural space.
In particular, locals and tourists witnessed impressive records: A tea-making performance by 1,111 tea farmers, displaying 1,000 ancient tea trees over 100 years old from many countries, and the participation of 80 Miss Cosmo beauties from countries famous for tea.
The elaborate and impressive art program in the Opening Ceremony satisfied the audience with 3 magnificent chapters. Chapter 1 included the content: Origin of Vietnamese tea - Spiritual flow - Origin of tea with the dance performance "Thank heaven and earth", the scene "Lang Lieu offers cakes to the king". Chapter 2 included the content: Heritage flow of famous tea regions of Vietnam showing images and songs about the West - Northeast tea region, Thai Nguyen tea region, tea picking scene in the highlands, B'lao - breath of the highlands - paradise of passionate highland soil. The most impressive was chapter 3 with the content "Connecting flow" with the Trade scene of contestants from Haiti, Ecuador, India, Myanmar, Sierra Leone, Spain, Bahamas, New Zealand...
Previously, on the morning of December 5, the Tea Culture ceremony - offering incense and tea to the Hung King, Tea Tea Connect - Friendship Tea... took place at Tea Resort Prenn (Da Lat). This is one of the outstanding cultural activities before the opening of the 2025 International Tea Festival.
From the Opening Ceremony until December 7, in Da Lat and Bao Loc, people and tourists continue to explore a series of diverse cultural, artistic, diplomatic and economic activities of the 2025 International Tea Festival. Including the Tea Gallery space displaying 1,000 ancient tea trees from famous tea regions around the world. Tea Expo brings together tea brands from Japan, China, France, Malaysia, Thailand... providing opportunities to learn about production models and expand the global supply chain. Tea Summit at Tea Resort Prenn brings together experts and businesses to discuss market trends, economic values, cultural diplomacy and introduce research on 5,000 years of Vietnamese tea civilization.
On the evening of December 6, the Festival continued with the Tea Fest program at the 1927 Ancient Tea Factory (B'lao), where traditional art space blended with modernity with the Ao Dai performance of nearly 80 Miss Cosmo International contestants. Next was the Tea Carnival on December 7, turning the central streets of Da Lat into a colorful street festival...
At the Opening Ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented 3 billion VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong Province. This is an activity of profound humanitarian significance, contributing to supporting social security and accompanying the locality towards the goal of sustainable development.
