On November 27-28, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son made a working visit to Cambodia, co-chairing the 13th Conference on Cooperation and Development of Border Provinces between Vietnam and Cambodia with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha.

Both sides frankly exchanged views and expressed their determination to preserve and develop relations and cooperation between the border provinces of Vietnam and Cambodia according to the motto "good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability." The two countries will continue to build and maintain a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and sustainably developing border.

Economic , trade, and investment cooperation has grown positively, especially in border provinces. Two-way trade turnover has averaged $10 billion per year in the last four years and reached $9.5 billion in the first 10 months of 2025, an increase of more than 13.5% compared to the same period in 2024.

Areas such as education, healthcare, labor, transportation, and livelihood support for border residents have been strengthened, bringing tangible benefits to the people.

The implementation of QR code payments using local currencies has contributed to facilitating transactions between the people of both countries, promoting trade, consumption, and tourism. Both sides have collaborated in organizing numerous conferences, seminars, trade fairs, and trade promotion events, enabling localities and businesses from both sides to directly meet, promote products, and find partners.

Both sides acknowledged the good relationship and cooperation between the authorities and functional forces of the border provinces of Vietnam and Cambodia in maintaining and protecting security, order, and stability along the border area, while promoting socio-economic development.

The conference emphasized strengthening cooperation between Vietnam's and Cambodia's border provinces in many important areas, including: defense, security, public order and social safety, cross-border trade, investment and border gate management, cross-border transport, infrastructure development and connectivity, border demarcation and marker placement...
