
On the night of December 3, Ms. Pham Thi Oanh (49 years old) in Cat Tien 3 commune discovered a pangolin straying into her garden. Immediately, Ms. Oanh carefully captured this individual and brought it to the Cat Tien 3 commune police headquarters to hand over and release it back into the wild.
After receiving the pangolin, Cat Tien 3 Commune Police, along with Ms. Oanh, coordinated with Gia Vien Forest Ranger Station (Cat Tien National Park) to handle it. The pangolin was determined to weigh more than 3kg and be in good health.
On the afternoon of December 4, the units and Ms. Oanh completed the procedures and organized the release of the pangolin into the natural environment.
Gia Vien Forest Ranger Station said that Javan Pangolin belongs to group IB in the list of endangered, rare and precious wild animals that need priority protection. All acts of hunting, transporting, trading or illegally consuming this species are strictly prohibited and will be handled according to the provisions of law.
