Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung expressed his emotion when he first set foot in the brotherly country of Cuba on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries; meeting with Embassy staff and the Vietnamese community in Cuba - people who are working day and night to build the image of Vietnam in a faraway land on the other side of the hemisphere.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that the special, exemplary relationship between Vietnam and Cuba is a priceless asset, a key foundation that each individual, especially the Vietnamese community here, needs to deeply understand in order to preserve and develop together.
Sharing the results of his visit to Cuba, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung said that his visit to Cuba was marked by very specific economic and trade cooperation moves: The first meeting of the Joint Committee for the implementation of the Bilateral Trade Agreement achieved the common goal of bringing bilateral trade turnover to 500 million USD, with focuses such as resolving payment difficulties, promoting investment and cooperation in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. During the meeting with Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Óscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, the leaders of the two countries also agreed to promote priority projects, especially in agriculture and fisheries, contributing to ensuring food security for Cuba.

With that foundation, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung placed great expectations on the business community and Vietnamese people in Cuba. The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that Cuba's cooperation potential is still very large in areas such as high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, and biotechnology. Pioneering Vietnamese enterprises, which have overcome numerous difficulties not only with capital and intelligence but also with sincere attachment to the country and people of Cuba, need to promote their role as economic "ambassadors", spreading and attracting more Vietnamese investors.
Reporting to Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung on the situation of the Vietnamese community in Cuba, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long affirmed that investment is a bright spot in bilateral relations, with Vietnamese enterprises holding the number one position in the Asia-Pacific region in this market. Although the Vietnamese community is not large, thanks to the special friendship, the Embassy has always played a core role, becoming a reliable bridge, closely following the locality and recommending practical policies to further strengthen the solidarity between the two peoples.

In response to the businesses' sharing, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung has directly directed relevant ministries and branches to closely coordinate with the Cuban side to remove difficulties and create favorable conditions for investment and business activities. "The community may not be large in quantity but must be strong in quality, must unite into a solid block to share, support and turn towards the Fatherland," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
These visits and contacts are not only normal diplomatic activities, but also a strong affirmation that, in the journey of developing the special Vietnam-Cuba relationship, each overseas Vietnamese is a red brick, a trustworthy messenger, contributing to building a solid bridge connecting the two countries and two brotherly peoples.
