Vietnam and Laos strengthen the exchange of scientific and theoretical information.

The talks noted many new cooperation directions, from sharing research works to preparing the 13th theoretical workshop, to meet the development requirements of the two Parties in the current period.

According to the VNA correspondent in Laos, on the afternoon of December 4 in the capital Vientiane, the high-ranking delegation of the Central Theoretical Council of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Professor-Doctor Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, had talks with the delegation of the Central Theoretical Council of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party led by Dr. Khamphanh Kheuyavong, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Council.

Attending the meeting was Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam.

At the meeting, Professor-Doctor Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized the role of the two Central Theoretical Councils as strategic advisory and consulting bodies for the Central Executive Committee and Politburo of each Party.

In recent times, the two sides have closely coordinated and effectively implemented many theoretical cooperation activities, notably the two sides have coordinated with relevant agencies of each country to actively prepare and successfully organize the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Annual Theoretical Seminars, focusing on practical issues, suitable to the construction and development requirements of each Party and each country.

The two Councils have actively exchanged experiences in building and perfecting the Party's development platform; coordinated in sharing scientific and theoretical information; and exchanged research works, including the Scientific Yearbook of the Central Theoretical Council of Vietnam.

Professor-Doctor Nguyen Xuan Thang suggested that in the coming time, the two sides continue to delve into the strategic relationship between the two Parties and the two States, not only in the economic field but also in the political, theoretical and organizational fields of the Party; the two sides need to carefully prepare for the 13th Theoretical Workshop between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party in 2026, choosing practical topics suitable to the new context; at the same time, continue to promote the study of Ho Chi Minh's thought and Kaysone Phomvihane's thought to find a suitable model for building socialism.

The values ​​of “taking people as the root”, humanity, solidarity, community cohesion… are considered important foundations of the socialist path.

Speaking at the talks, Dr. Khamphanh Kheuyavong highly appreciated the significance of the Vietnamese delegation's visit and work, affirming that this is an important contribution to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic connection between the two Parties, two States and peoples.

Dr. Khamphanh Kheuyavong informed about some outstanding results of the Lao Central Theoretical Council and future directions, emphasizing the task of continuing to promote the role of the two councils in developing theory, providing scientific arguments for the formulation of each Party's policies and for the Laos-Vietnam strategic relationship.

In the coming time, Mr. Khamphanh Kheuyavong suggested that the Vietnamese side increase the sharing of experiences in information and press work to improve the operational efficiency of propaganda agencies, as well as the coordination mechanism between the press and research and theory agencies to better serve the task of propagating the Party and State's guidelines.

Previously, on December 3 in Pakse city, Champasak province, Southern Laos, Professor-Doctor Nguyen Xuan Thang had a meeting with Mr. Alounxay Sounnalath, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee./.
