The first consultation on the structure and number of people in central agencies eligible to run for the 16th National Assembly

Delegates discussed and approved a number of contents at the Conference.

The conference took place under the chairmanship of Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vice Chairwoman of the National Election Council, Head of the Election Steering Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Attending the Conference were non-professional Vice Chairmen of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front: Ha Thi Khiet, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization; Nguyen Thi Doan, former Vice President; Party Central Committee members: Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly , Member of the National Election Council; Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Deputy Prime Minister; Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the Party Central Committee Office; Hoang Dang Quang, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Organizing Committee; Do Thanh Binh, Minister of Home Affairs; Nguyen Huu Dong, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Deputies' Affairs Committee.

Attending the event were comrades of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, members of the Election Steering Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front: Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Ha Thi Nga; Luong Quoc Doan, President of the Vietnam Farmers' Union ; Comrade Bui Quang Huy, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union; Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, former member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam Veterans' Association.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai stated: The election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term is an important political event of the country, a broad democratic activity among the people to promote mastery, select exemplary and worthy people, representing the will, aspirations and mastery of the people.

Election preparations are being carried out closely, uniformly and proactively from the central to local levels, creating an important foundation for the successful organization of the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels, taking place on March 15, 2026.

The success of the election depends on many factors, including the extremely important role and responsibility of the Vietnam Fatherland Front system.

The first consultative conference was held to discuss the structure, composition, and number of people from central agencies, organizations, and units nominated as candidates for the 16th National Assembly.

Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai said: according to regulations, to ensure democracy and select typical candidates for National Assembly and People's Council deputies, the consultative conference will be held three times.

The first consultative conference at each level will be held from December 1 to 10; the second will be on February 2 and 3, 2026; and the third will take place from February 9 to 20, 2026.

At the Conference, delegates listened to comrade Nguyen Huu Dong present the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the expected number of people from political organizations, socio-political organizations, social organizations, people's armed forces, and central state agencies to be nominated as candidates for the 16th National Assembly.

The conference also heard comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Ha present the Report of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on the expected number of people from political organizations, socio-political organizations, social organizations, people's armed forces, and central state agencies to be introduced as candidates for the 16th National Assembly.

From the content of the Resolution and the Report, the delegates focused on discussing the number of people from central agencies, organizations and units recommended to run for the 16th National Assembly.
