Owning 4 birdhouses with an output of about 300 kg/year, Mr. Tran Dong Man - Director of Hong Chau Yen One Member Limited Liability Trading Service Company cooperates with many households to proactively source raw materials. On Ly Nhan Tong Street, Rach Gia Ward, he invested in building a spacious bird's nest supermarket, both to display and introduce products and to welcome tourists who want to learn about the bird's nest profession.

In April 2025, Mr. Man's company reached an important milestone when officially exporting bird's nest to Taiwan. Behind that achievement is a persistent journey to overcome a series of strict requirements of the import market. To be granted an export code, the enterprise must meet two sets of food safety standards of Vietnam and strict food hygiene and quarantine regulations of Taiwan. Bird's nest samples must undergo independent testing for microbiology, heavy metals, and purity, and at the same time, transparent records of traceability from bird's nest to finished product.
“The company has processes that have to be redone 7-8 times just because a microbiological index has not been met,” said Chau Thi Nhu Thuy, Mr. Man’s wife. From product label design, shipment records, linked birdhouse records to standardizing the canning line to meet HACCP and ISO 22000, every detail is controlled. Many times the partner side requested additional documents or to complete the production process, but Mr. Man and his wife were not discouraged, because “Each challenge is a step to help the business grow more mature”. It is this spirit that has helped Hong Chau Yen bird’s nest drink pass all testing rounds, qualifying for official export.
Taking advantage of foreign languages, understanding of e-commerce and proactive integration, Mr. Man and his wife were also approved to trade on prestigious e-commerce platforms in Taiwan and Japan. "I want to bring bird's nest products to the world , both to increase the value and affirm the An Giang bird's nest brand," Mr. Man shared. Currently, each year, the business sells hundreds of kilograms of bird's nests of all kinds to the market, distributed in supermarket systems and convenience stores.
In the context of the volatile world economy and politics in 2025, An Giang remains steadfast in its strategy of developing agriculture according to the value chain. The province focuses on building processing industrial clusters and modern preservation systems, aiming to become the center of agricultural processing in the Mekong Delta. The bird's nest industry with pioneering enterprises such as Hong Chau Yen is expected to contribute to this sustainable development orientation. Looking to the future, Mr. Man said that he will continue to expand raw material areas, upgrade processing lines to international standards, and promote promotion in potential Asian markets. At the same time, the enterprise wants to form a network linking farming - harvesting - processing with households in the province to create a stable and consistent supply of quality.
Mr. Man’s journey from a bird’s nest farmer to a business with official export products shows the resilience of An Giang people when they dare to innovate and step into the international market. That is also the expectation for An Giang agricultural products to continue to develop sustainably in the coming years.
