Innovation in history teaching methods
Having studied history taught by Mr. Luan in grades 10 and 11, Tran Thi Nhu Ngoc - a student of class 12A3 still remembers the lively atmosphere of those lessons. Ngoc shared that Mr. Luan's history lessons were always lively because he often combined games, plays, and historical stories into his lectures. Mr. Luan often applied information technology to present lectures, historical documentary videos , and historical films to make his lessons lively and easy to understand. "Thanks to that, I remember knowledge deeply and am interested in learning history. In addition to class time, I learn more through reference books, the internet, historical images and videos on social networking platforms," Nhu Ngoc confided.

New experience
Implementing the 2018 general education program, the weekly flag-raising ceremony of Vo Van Kiet Secondary and High School has been renewed in both content and form in line with the monthly theme. The traditional cultural experience models initiated by Mr. Ly Hoang Luan have contributed to creating a rich school environment, helping students "touch" history in a lively and emotional way.
Most recently, the topic of learning about some rituals in Southern weddings has attracted the attention of students and has been replicated in many schools and units inside and outside the province. Teacher Ly Hoang Luan shared: “Wishing students to have a deeper understanding of traditional customs and practices, I discussed with the leaders of the Provincial Museum and the Association of Rach Gia Ward Clubs to organize a topic of dramatizing some traditional rituals in the weddings of the ancient Southern people. The topic was organized as a model by the Provincial Museum, then organized at Vo Van Kiet Secondary and High School and has been replicated by many schools inside and outside the province.”
The topics of learning some rituals in Southern weddings, the Minh Kinh Bac Hoc playground, historical drama performances... are outstanding evidence of the creativity and enthusiasm of Mr. Luan in the Union activities and the work of educating traditional cultural values for students. Nguyen My Dinh - a student of class 11A7, shared: "The topics of educating traditional cultural values help us expand our knowledge and live in the atmosphere of history with interesting experiences, thereby inspiring us to learn about the good cultural values of the nation".
Mr. Dao Viet An shared: “As Secretary of the School Youth Union, Mr. Luan is always dedicated and creative in Youth Union work, organizing many activities, building many effective models, creating a healthy playground for students to practice skills, perfect their personalities, and develop comprehensively”. Mr. Luan always puts students at the center of all experiential activities, cares about and understands students' wishes to organize practical activities that suit their needs. He often studies trends from social networks to apply content that suits the tastes of young people.
Teacher Luan confided: “After each topic, each movement activity, seeing students happy and more mature, I have more motivation to try. In the future, I will maintain the activities that have been done, continue to organize topics to learn about Southern amateur music, topics to dramatize and learn about Tet customs…”.
