On the afternoon of December 3, the U.23 Vietnam team played their first match at the 33rd SEA Games, facing U.23 Laos. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team won 2-1. Striker Nguyen Dinh Bac shined with a double, bringing home 3 full points for the Golden Star team on the opening day.

With the victory over U.23 Laos, the U.23 Vietnam team now has 3 points (goal difference +1) and is temporarily leading the group. BU23 Malaysia has not yet played in the SEA Games, and is ranked second in group B with 0 points (goal difference 0). Meanwhile, U.23 Laos received a defeat in the first match, standing at the bottom of the group with 0 points and a goal difference of -1.

U.23 Vietnam had a smooth start at SEA Games 33 with a victory over U.23 Laos

In the second match of Group B, U.23 Malaysia will face U.23 Laos on November 6. In the final match of Group B, U.23 Vietnam will face U.23 Malaysia at 4:00 p.m. on December 11. This is also considered the "final" match, deciding the top spot of Group B.
