In 2009, the Department of Performing Arts - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to license the distribution of 6 songs composed before 1975 by musician Hoang Thi Tho, including: "Old Roads, Old Paths", "Country Fate", "Image of the Unwaited Empress", "Ideal Hut", "Bringing Love Back to the Homeland", "Gathering Golden Moonlight".
Up to now, the song "Ideal Hut" has been performed by many singers and artists, but for music lovers, the song was first sung by a female singer and her voice is still loved, that is Connie Kim.
Connie Kim is good at foreign languages and sings American music since childhood.
Singer Connie Kim is the daughter of famous musician Le Quang Anh. In 1966, her talented musician father, who worked as the conductor of the Ritz dance hall, had the initiative to form a Quartet consisting of two female singers, Connie Kim and famous singer Ngoc My, and two male singers, singers Ali Minh and Ong.
Connie Kim was only 16 years old at that time, but her father had taught her music theory, so she easily integrated with the singers of the previous generation. At that time, she sang songs such as: "California Dreaming", "My Girl", "Dedicated to the One I Love"...
Just a few months after her first appearance with the Quartet, singer Connie Kim received a lot of attention and was then invited to perform at several tea rooms in Saigon.

"According to musician Le Quang Anh, when she was young, Connie Kim studied English at Dien Hong school of professor Le Ba Kong, Vietnamese - American Association, so when she had the opportunity to listen to music records sent from abroad, Connie Kim learned her lessons very quickly, especially since his daughter had a very high singing voice like Connie Francis - a famous American singer with songs: Never on Sunday, Love Is A Many Splendored thing, Stupid Cupid...
That is also the reason why he gave his daughter Le Thi Kim Phuong the stage name Connie Kim" - MC Tran Quoc Bao said.
Since the late 60s, Connie Kim has collaborated with most of the most famous dance halls and tea rooms in Saigon such as Majestic, Maxim, Tu Do, Palace, Queen Bee, Olympia, Mini Rex, Embassy, Ritz, Bach Hy (Cho Lon). In 1975, she settled in the US and continues to perform until now.
During the meeting, she was moved and said she was very happy because it had been a long time since she had seen her friends and colleagues. "Now I spend my time singing at church where I find joy in faith and music ... Because I am old, I rarely go on stage to perform" - singer Connie Kim confided.

Artist Giang Kim recounted the memories of when she first started singing, her family was poor, and she had no performance costumes. Singer Connie Kim gave her many costumes, helping her appear beautifully on stage.
A sudden and emotional return
Having not appeared on domestic stages for decades, Connie Kim's surprise appearance at the event warmed the audience with long applause.
She walked among old friends, singing voices, musical instruments and faces that had created the artistic and sporting colors of an era that could not fade in the memories of many generations.
Many artists and players were moved to hug her after she sang the song "Ideal Hut" again.
She was delighted to meet famous footballers Vo Thanh Son and Quang Duc Vinh, artists and singers Trang My Dung, Meritorious Artist Hong Van, Tu Trinh, Kieu Phuong Loan, My Chi, musicians Han Chau, Tuan Khanh, Bao Thu, Hoang Nhac Do, Manh Quynh, artist Tran Van Mui, singer Ngoc Son, and many other faces who have left an impression on the public.

Connie Kim – The Journey of Persistence
Connie Kim is known as the first female singer to perform the song "Ideal Hut". Although the song was later performed by many singers - especially Mai Le Huyen with famous duets - Connie Kim was still the one who laid the first brick for the spread of this song on the Saigon youth music scene in the 1960s - 1970s.
Not only "Ideal Hut", Connie Kim also left her mark with the songs: Where Are You, Magical Night, Poor Spring, Thousand Miles of Hoofs, Love and Dream, Spring Age, Peaceful Chorus, Zen Fairyland...
Her gentle voice, elegant style and lyricism mixed with the youthfulness typical of that time helped her become one of the favorite female singers in urban music before 1975.

Bridge between two generations – memories are named
MC Tran Quoc Bao's gratitude meeting is familiar to the domestic artists because every year when he returns to his homeland, he organizes a gift giving ceremony to help sick artists and artists in difficult circumstances in the country. This year, the presence of singer Connie Kim makes the program more special.
"Seeing Connie Kim emotionally holding hands with her colleagues, the artists who have worked with her, I understand the lasting value of memories when music and the football field continue to live in the hearts of those who created beautiful echoes. The event is not just a meeting but a celebration of artistry" - Artist Tu Trinh said.
For MC Tran Quoc Bao, he believes that organizing a gratitude event is a meaningful thing. Every year, he tries to return to the country with his friends and colleagues to organize a meeting so that artists and retired football players have the opportunity to meet, have a friendly meal and sing to each other songs that have been loved by the public.
"I am very touched and grateful for the affection that the artists and former players have shown me in this intimate meeting. I hope to have the opportunity to join in charity work and show gratitude to the artists who need help" - singer Connie Kim said.
