The Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just sent document No. 708-TTr/DU to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to request opinions on the draft plan to arrange public service units and organizations within the state administrative system.

According to the report dated December 2, currently, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has 278 public units. Of which, there are 3 universities, 19 colleges, 17 intermediate schools and 2 intermediate schools managed by state-owned enterprises...

The arrangement of public universities, colleges and intermediate schools is based on the principle of ensuring the provision of public career services, meeting the needs of people in the fields of university education and vocational education (VET).

Of which, 6 colleges will remain, including: Vietnam - Singapore College, Vietnam - Korea Binh Duong College, Ba Ria - Vung Tau College of Technology, Thu Duc College of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City College of Architecture - Construction, Semi-public College of Technology and Business Administration.

The reason for maintaining them is that these units meet legal regulations on conditions to ensure training quality (regarding land area, school facilities, training equipment, teaching staff); have prestige in society for training quality; are oriented to build high-quality colleges, regional centers for vocational practice and have a leading role for vocational training establishments in Ho Chi Minh City.

List of proposed arrangements for 13 colleges and 17 public secondary schools:
