Training on safe schools

From December 6 to 9, the Red Cross Society of Tuyen Quang province organized a training course on safe schools under the project "International aid to support schools in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi) and post-storm circulation" in Tuyen Quang province, for 30 students who are the principals and teachers of Hong Thai Secondary School, Minh Xuan ward.

Trainees were taught a number of skills by officers of the Provincial Red Cross Society and the Central Vietnam Red Cross Society, such as: Raising awareness and fully equipping the school board and teachers with necessary knowledge and skills on criteria and procedures for building a "safe school" and responding to natural disasters; supporting schools in developing and effectively implementing school-level disaster response plans, to ensure maximum safety for students, teachers and facilities, adapting to climate change and other types of natural disasters, etc.

The project "International aid to support schools in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi) and post-storm circulation" in Tuyen Quang province will be implemented into small sub-projects at 7 schools in the province in the coming time, including: Hong Thai Secondary School, Phan Thiet Secondary School; Thai Long Secondary School, An Tuong Secondary School, Thai Hoa Secondary School, Phu Lam Secondary School, Nhu Khe Secondary School with a total value of nearly 2.2 billion VND.
