Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports, Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn (right) requested to report and sue fans who illegally hold advertising signs.
"The group of women holding billboards advertising betting websites during the SEA Games 33 match between Thailand and Timor-Leste, we need to coordinate to handle this issue. This is a violation of Thai law. SAT cannot sit still, it needs to report to the police and file a lawsuit. Viewers watching the live broadcast also need to be careful" - Mr. Sirilathayakorn added.
Previously, during the match between U22 Vietnam and U22 Laos on December 3, a group of fans sitting in the stands of Rajamangala Stadium, holding a betting website advertisement, was caught on television.
Some Thai media sites also warned fans from other countries who came to Thailand to watch the 33rd SEA Games to be careful that free cheering items, shirts, hats, etc., may have illegal images printed on them, leading to trouble with local authorities.
