Special performance by people with disabilities

(NLDO) - On stage, nearly 30 disabled students sang and performed martial arts, moving the entire hall.

On December 6, the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Psychology and Education (term 2025 - 2030) was held at the Department of Education and Training with more than 130 delegates attending.

The bustling hall suddenly became quiet when people with disabilities (blind, slow development, hyperactive, autistic...) appeared and walked onto the stage.

On stage, martial arts teacher Vo Thi Thanh Loan, Head of the "Aikido World is Love" Psychology and Education Association in Ho Chi Minh City, guided each person to stand in the correct position. More than 130 delegates watched attentively, applause rang out when a student completed a difficult martial art move.

As soon as the performance ended, Associate Professor - Doctor Dinh Phuong Duy, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Psychology and Education, stepped onto the stage to present flowers and gifts to thank the group, and at the same time introduced an effective educational model for children with disabilities.

Associate Professor - Dr. Dinh Phuong Duy said that the "World Aikido is Love" Educational Psychology Association is a very special association, specializing in supporting and educating children with visual impairments, autism, and developmental delays... Through practicing Aikido and music therapy, the children have been able to integrate and adapt to everyone, improving their inner life.

Master Thanh Loan said that although she often calls her students "kids", most of them are over 18 years old, some are over 30 years old. Many students have been practicing Aikido for over 10 years and have seen many positive changes.

"Looking at you guys, you look tall and mature, but your soul is like a 5-10 year old child, naive and simple. To help you have health and control your behavior like on stage requires a long process of effort, companionship and intervention from parents and teachers" - martial arts master Thanh Loan shared.

3 important tasks

In the coming time, Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Phuong Duy emphasized that the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Psychology and Education will focus on three important tasks.

The 1st Executive Committee of the Association of Psychology and Education of Ho Chi Minh City (term 2025 - 2030)

Firstly, put the service ideology first, always deeply aware of the practical needs of both society and members. This requires all activities to ensure both scientific (professional accuracy) and utility (applicability to life).

Second, the scientific expertise of each member and the strength of the association. This is the basic foundation for the association to be able to develop sustainably in terms of scale as well as invest in facilities and technology to serve its activities.

Third, expand school branches, closely coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to propagate and disseminate knowledge of psychology and education to the community, and develop the association's official communication channels to increase interaction.
