The Commune People's Committee said that this year, students from primary and secondary schools in the area will participate in many sports competitions such as athletics, badminton, volleyball, and 5-a-side football.
The activities were held at the Defense and Reserve Training Center, Base 4, and the commune's sports fields. This was an opportunity to evaluate the quality of physical education , and at the same time select talented faces to nurture and prepare forces to participate in the City-level Student Sports Tournament in the coming time.
The highlight of this year's series of activities is the drum and gong performances and Co Tu folk songs. Being held right at the Co Tu Traditional Village helps students live in the indigenous cultural space, gain deeper access to intangible heritage such as Ly singing, Ly speaking, customs, festivals, folk tales and unique lifestyles of their people.
According to the plan, the opening ceremony will take place at 8:00 on December 4 and the closing ceremony will take place at 15:00 on December 7. The organization is carried out by the Commune's Department of Culture and Society , Commune Police, Tay Giang Regional Health Center, Commune Public Service Center and schools.
Mr. Arat Blui, Chairman of Tay Giang Commune People's Committee, said that the series of activities closely followed the policies and resolutions of the Central Government on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and development of physical education and sports in the new period.
At the same time, bringing Co Tu culture into schools will contribute to nurturing national pride, strengthening community cohesion and continuing the heritage of the Co Tu people in the Truong Son range.
