
After the Director of the Department of Construction approved the results of contractor selection, in recent days, the winning units of construction and installation packages; survey consultancy, construction design and estimate; construction supervision consultancy have urgently carried out the work to urgently repair and fix the approach road to Duy Phuoc bridge (also known as Ba Ngan bridge).
At the construction site of the road leading to Hoi An ward, the construction contractor, Traffic Management and Construction Company Limited, has driven a total of 10/15 H300 steel piles. Specialized materials are also gathered in the construction area.
The contractor said that according to the decision to issue an Emergency Construction Order for the project to repair and restore the Duy Phuoc bridge approach road of the Department of Construction, due to the terrain of the area and the Duy Phuoc bridge approach road on the Hoi An ward side being deeply eroded, the flow will be widened, so a temporary bridge will be built to extend the existing bridge from the eastern abutment to replace the eroded approach road. This temporary bridge consists of 3 I-shaped steel girder spans, with a total length of 30m. The bridge girder structure is made of I500 shaped steel, the bridge deck system is made of shaped steel and steel plates; the foundation system is made of H300 shaped steel piles.

Deputy Director of the Danang Infrastructure Maintenance Board, Mr. Le Van Minh Nga shared that the contractor is continuing to drive the remaining 5 steel piles, and will then install beams, bridge decks, railings and barriers...
The Board has directed relevant units to closely monitor the scene and implement construction solutions to complete the repair project by the end of December 2025 to quickly resolve the traffic disruption and soon connect traffic between Hoi An ward and Nam Phuoc commune.
The temporary bridge replacing the eroded Duy Phuoc bridge approach will be 3.5m wide (the bridge surface is 3m wide, the guardrails on each side are 0.25m wide). In addition to pedestrians, non-motorized vehicles and motorbikes, cars with a load capacity of 2.5 tons or less will be allowed to pass through the bridge after the repair is completed.
According to the people, local authorities need to monitor and strictly handle cases of overloaded vehicles deliberately traveling through Duy Phuoc Bridge to ensure the safety of the project once the repair and restoration of the approach road is completed.
It is known that Quang Nam province (old) previously agreed to invest in adding Duy Phuoc bridge to component project 2, the project to complete coastal road 129. The process of preparing for investment in building a new Duy Phuoc bridge across Thu Bon river is in the design and construction drawing stage. Investing in building a new Duy Phuoc bridge will open the "bottleneck", when the current road section on the bridge is only 3m wide. The bridge is narrow, but the traffic volume is very large because the travel time from My Son Temple Complex, Duy Xuyen and Nam Phuoc communes to Hoi An ancient town, Da Nang city and vice versa is significantly shortened. The expanded bridge will be synchronized with the route connecting National Highway 1 to the East, the existing east-west cross-roads, creating an inter-regional traffic network, expanding the space, creating favorable conditions to attract investment.
