Connecting labor supply and demand at the end of the year

Faced with this reality, the City Labor Federation proactively organized the first Job Consulting Festival in 2025, contributing to solving difficulties in labor shortage and stabilizing the job market in the new development stage of the city.

"Red eyes" looking for workers during peak season

According to information from the City Labor Federation, through understanding from the grassroots, many businesses in the city are seriously "thirsty" for labor. The total recruitment demand is estimated to be up to 100,000 - 120,000 workers. Despite continuous recruitment and attractive incentives, the number of applicants is still not enough, directly affecting the production and business activities of businesses.

Deputy Head of Human Resources Department, Regina Miracle International Vietnam Co., Ltd. (VSIP Industrial Park) Pham Thi Minh Hai informed that from now until March 2025, the company needs to recruit about 6,000 workers, each month needs to recruit 1,000 workers with no age limit, no skill requirements and trained by the company, with an income of 9 - 18 million VND/month. Although the unit recruits continuously throughout the year, the supply cannot meet the demand.

Similarly, LG Electronics Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. (Trang Due Industrial Park) needs to recruit 800 production workers with income from 9 - 14 million VND/month, 250 technicians with income from 10 - 15 million VND/month, no experience required.

At Dinh Vu Industrial Park, Shin-Estu Magnet Materials Vietnam Co., Ltd. also needs to recruit 610 workers, including 500 general workers, 100 metallurgical workers, and 10 maintenance/electrical assistants. To attract workers, the company offers many preferential policies such as 100% salary during 2 months of training, allowances up to 3.5 million VND depending on the position, but still cannot recruit enough.

According to many businesses, recruitment is difficult due to the trend of young workers preferring free and flexible work. Meanwhile, workers from other provinces are under pressure from living and housing costs, so they do not want to stay long-term. Especially now, many localities such as Bac Ninh , Hung Yen, Ninh Binh ... are rapidly developing industrial zones and clusters, so workers have more choices of places to work and live.

Trade Unions at all levels have implemented many practical programs to care for union members and workers, especially workers from other provinces.

Accompanying workers and laborers

Faced with the increasingly tense labor shortage problem, businesses in Hai Phong are making efforts to improve welfare policies. According to the Industrial Park Trade Union Board (City Labor Federation), the average diligence bonus in An Duong Industrial Park is 526,000 VND/month; travel allowance in VSIP Industrial Park is up to 506,000 VND/month; in Dinh Vu Industrial Park, the meal allowance is 37,000 VND/meal, all of which are quite high compared to the general level.

Many enterprises in the industrial park in the eastern part of Hai Phong support workers with an average rent of 302,000 VND/person/month. Some enterprises invest in building worker dormitories such as: Brother Vietnam Company (Phuc Dien Industrial Park), LG Displays Vietnam, Pegatron... Many enterprises also apply performance bonuses, seniority bonuses, menstrual allowances, support for pregnant women, women raising young children...

To accompany businesses, the city's Trade Unions at all levels have implemented many practical programs to care for union members and workers, especially those from other provinces, such as: giving tens of thousands of free bus tickets; giving Tet gifts to workers far from home, workers in difficult circumstances, and those with serious illnesses. Many models are geared towards workers, such as: civilized and safe boarding houses; support for air conditioning, free wifi; support for funding to build and repair "Union shelters"... to help workers feel secure in their attachment to businesses and the city.

Based on the needs of businesses and workers, from December 5 to 7, 2025, the City Labor Federation organized the first Job Consulting Day at the Vietnam-Czech Friendship Labor Cultural Palace. The festival attracted 118 units and businesses to participate with a total recruitment demand of more than 16,000 positions in many industries such as electronics, garment, mechanics, logistics, services... The event was organized in an open model, creating conditions for workers to directly exchange with employers, quickly interview and receive results on the spot. Many businesses expect the festival to help solve some of the urgent labor needs.

In addition to recruitment activities, the festival also has many practical activities to take care of union members such as: free health screening, free motorbike oil change, voluntary blood donation, propaganda of social insurance policies, social housing, dance festival, lucky draw... the event attracts thousands of workers, especially workers from other provinces.

According to Chairman of the City Labor Federation Nguyen Anh Tuan, the festival creates an effective bridge between workers and businesses, contributing to job creation, sustainable labor restructuring, meeting the socio-economic development requirements of the city and the country. At the same time, it supports union members, workers, students, demobilized soldiers and freelance workers to access market information, recruitment trends, career orientation and suitable job opportunities.
