Ke Ga Lighthouse is ranked as a provincial historical and architectural relic.

On the afternoon of December 6, the People's Committee of Tan Thanh commune (Lam Dong) solemnly held a ceremony to announce the decision to rank the Ke Ga Lighthouse as a provincial-level historical and architectural relic.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Minh, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives of leaders of departments, branches, localities, officials and people of Tan Thanh commune.

Ke Ga Lighthouse is located on Ke Ga Island in Tan Thanh Commune. It is one of the oldest lighthouses with the most majestic architecture, playing a particularly important role in the maritime safety assurance system of Vietnam.

The lighthouse is 42.8m high. Ke Ga lighthouse was built by the French in February 1897, completed in 1899 and put into operation from 1900 to present.

Comrade Nguyen Minh, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented the ranking board to the leaders of Tan Thanh commune.

This is an ancient architectural work with unique artistry built of granite, with an octagonal cylindrical architecture with a solid structure, bearing the mark of 19th century French architecture.

In Tan Thanh, Ke Ga Lighthouse has become a symbol associated with the history of maritime development of Lam Dong sea and is recognized by the Vietnam Book of Records Center as the tallest lighthouse in the country with 184 spiral stairs and a light range of 22 nautical miles.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vo Thanh Huy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized: Tan Thanh Commune continues to preserve and effectively promote the value of Ke Ga Lighthouse. Thereby, contributing to promoting tourism development, positively contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality.

The locality needs to coordinate with the South Central Coast Maritime Safety Unit (under the Southern Maritime Safety Unit) to establish a Monument Management Board. At the same time, develop operating regulations and assign specific tasks to each member, to coordinate in protecting and promoting the sustainable value of the monument.

In particular, effectively promoting the value of relics, building Ke Ga destination to always be green - clean - beautiful, actively contributing to the development of Tan Thanh commune in particular and Lam Dong province in general.

In addition, the locality needs to step up propaganda and mobilize businesses, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province to join hands in supporting resources, along with the State budget to invest in renovating, embellishing and improving the landscape environment of relics.

According to Ms. Mai Thi Ngoc Anh, Chairwoman of Tan Thanh Commune People's Committee, Ke Ga Lighthouse is one of the unique symbols of Tan Thanh land. The project has special historical, architectural and cultural values.

Being ranked as a provincial relic today is not only the pride of the local people, but also the province's deep recognition of the value of a work over a hundred years old, closely associated with the development journey of the homeland and the country.

Ke Ga Lighthouse was formed nearly 130 years ago.

Nearly 130 years, despite the impact of nature in the harsh sea area, the construction still exists almost intact. The relic not only stands out for its historical value, unique architecture but also attracts by its wild, poetic natural scenery.

Surrounding Ke Ga Island are natural rocks with many unique shapes, clear blue sea water and fresh air, an ideal destination for tourists who love to explore and experience.
