Building Ho Chi Minh City into a locality with the best spiritual life for students

On the morning of December 6, the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Psychology and Education held its first Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term.

This is an important milestone after the decision to merge psychological and educational science units in three (old) locations, opening a new phase for research, consulting and community service activities.

In his opening speech, MSc. Nguyen Ngoc Nguyen - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Psychology and Education Science stated the basis for organizing the Congress according to Decision 1443 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

At the same time, evaluating the past term, despite being heavily affected by Covid 19, the Association still carried out many scientific research activities, knowledge dissemination communication, community consultation and support for special subjects.

At the Congress, Dr. Huynh Cong Minh - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Educational Psychology proposed important directions.

That is to build Ho Chi Minh City into the leading locality in the country in terms of spiritual life of students.

Dr. Minh believes that a good spiritual life will help children always be optimistic, love life, and nurture positive ideals and dreams.

"When you have confidence and a healthy lifestyle, you will strive to study well and effectively prevent social evils in the community and on social networks. This also helps students avoid deviant thoughts and actions, spread positive attitudes and help friends avoid bad risks caused by social circumstances," said Dr. Minh.

Dr. Huynh Cong Minh also emphasized the close relationship between psychological science and educational science. He affirmed: "Psychological science will make educational science flourish, and vice versa", thereby calling for a harmonious combination to improve the quality of research and application.

Sharing about the direction of the new term, Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Phuong Duy - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Psychology and Education said that in the 2025 - 2030 term, the Association will continue to promote its capacity, potential and achievements in the previous period.

In the spirit of solidarity and unity, the Association aims to strengthen the organization, improve professional quality and reputation in society.

He emphasized that creating favorable conditions for the development of psychology and education is a consistent orientation, contributing to the cause of industrialization and modernization.

A key task in the new period is to expand the Association's organization in high schools through the establishment of psychology-educational branches, aiming to strengthen the connection between professional research and school practice.

The 1st Congress of Delegates of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Psychology and Education is expected to create a new momentum for the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Psychology and Education in the period 2025 - 2030, aiming at the goal of serving the community and developing people in a comprehensive and sustainable way.

The Congress also plans to establish 6 affiliated units, including the Association Office; Communications and Development Board; Finance Board; Psychology Board; Education Board; Inspection and Supervision Board to optimize operations and improve the quality of professional activities.
