Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee listens to every opinion of the people

Attending the National Great Unity Day in Ben Thanh Ward residential area, instead of giving congratulatory speeches and giving instructions as usual, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee spent a lot of time listening, discussing and answering opinions of the people in the neighborhoods.

On the afternoon of November 15, the Inter-ward Front Working Committee of Neighborhoods 9, 11, 12, 13, 14 (Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) organized the National Great Unity Day 2025. Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, attended.

What is special at the festival is that instead of giving congratulatory speeches and giving instructions as per the program, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee spent a lot of time listening, discussing and answering opinions of the people in the neighborhoods.

Talking to the Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee, Ms. Quach Quy Hong (Ward 12) reported that the Ben Thanh Ward area is often flooded during heavy rains and high tides. In addition, a number of large projects are behind schedule, including the Ben Thanh Quadrangle project...

Ms. Hong recommended that the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City have solutions to prevent flooding as well as speed up the progress of projects, so that people can benefit more, creating conditions to contribute to ensuring better social security. Ms. Hong also recommended that the city create conditions for workers to have better access to jobs.

Ms. Le Thi Kim Van (Ward 12) expressed satisfaction with the service of officials and civil servants in the operation of the two-level local government. According to Ms. Van, the new model facilitates people in handling administrative procedures and social security work.

Ms. Van recommended that the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City have a solution so that people who use health insurance to examine and treat diseases can enjoy the same services as normal medical examination and treatment. This will help improve social welfare and people will no longer be afraid to use health insurance to examine and treat diseases...

Talking with the people, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc highly appreciated the opinions and recommendations that are both macro-level and close to the lives of people in residential areas. According to comrade Nguyen Van Duoc, the city has set out goals, tasks, breakthrough solutions, and strategies, including infrastructure breakthroughs. In the near future, Ho Chi Minh City will be a "big construction site" with many large projects such as the construction of an international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City, urban railway projects, belt roads, seaports, etc.

In addition, the city will extend the high-speed railway line connecting the center of Ho Chi Minh City - Can Gio to Ben Thanh station (instead of Tan Thuan station as before). From this project, the city will also study the development of underground space combined with public space in the Ben Thanh market area according to the city's general planning, in order to enhance urban aesthetics, promote tourism economy and improve traffic in the central area.

Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc shared that this is a big project that needs time to implement and hopes that the people of Ben Thanh ward will accompany the city to implement projects to serve the people and beautify the city.

According to comrade Nguyen Van Duoc, along with calling for investment in projects, the employment needs of workers will also be solved. Because, having more projects implemented will open up job opportunities. He suggested that people continue to invest in students to access technology, improve their knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of employers, thereby helping their children have the best job opportunities.

Regarding the solution to flooding, traffic jams, and environmental pollution, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that these are the tasks the city is focusing on with many synchronous solutions, from implementing belt roads and urban railways to converting fossil fuel-powered vehicles to electric vehicles...

He also hopes that people will join the city in practical activities such as maintaining public hygiene, promoting solidarity, and together building green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential areas...

In recent times, the neighborhoods have achieved many positive results in implementing campaigns and emulation movements. Notably, many outstanding projects and models on culture and urban aesthetics have been effectively implemented. These include the 3 Ho Chi Minh cultural spaces, the "green neighborhood - green, clean, beautiful alley" project, the Party flag - national flag street; building neighborhoods without hiding criminals. The neighborhoods have effectively promoted the self-management models of "Household groups", "Self-managed neighborhood cells on security and order", "fire safety inter-family groups".

The neighborhoods have many practical solutions in taking care of people's lives, maintaining security, order and social safety in the locality, working together to build neighborhoods to achieve the title of "cultural neighborhoods", "solidarity - affection - self-management" residential areas...
