
On the evening of November 15, the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter coordinated with units and individuals to open a series of cultural activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2005 - November 23, 2025), at Relic No. 40 Lan Ong, Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi.
With the aim of introducing the architectural beauty of the 40 Lan Ong Relic through the visual language of fashion and introducing the traditional craft heritage and its application in contemporary life, the highlight of the opening night was the program introducing the 30-year journey of preserving, honoring and spreading the heritage value of Hanoi Ao Dai of the brand David Minh Duc Haute Couture.
Sharing his deep love for Hanoi and its heritage, designer David Minh Duc said that no matter where he goes, his heart always turns to Hanoi, where he established his career and started his journey of researching and designing Vietnamese clothing more than 30 years ago. The fashion collection presented is his way of sending his feelings and energy to everyone, calling on the community to join in preserving, promoting and developing cultural heritage - an endless resource for creativity.
The series of cultural activities in Hanoi's Old Quarter includes many rich activities. The highlight is the exhibition space at Relic No. 40 Lan Ong, introducing the famous physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong, Vietnamese traditional medicine and the medicinal tea experience area, helping visitors discover the value of the traditional oriental medicine street. Kim Ngan Communal House (No. 42 - 44 Hang Bac) is where the research project "Kim Ngan Communal House Storytelling Space" is introduced through unique patterns and traditional craft products such as jewelry and horn products.

In particular, the heritage music program "Old Town Music Story" performed by Dong Kinh Co Nhac on the evening of November 22 at Kim Ngan Communal House promises to recreate the quintessence of ancient Vietnamese music in a unique cultural space. In addition, workshops on printing ancient motifs with Thanh Lieu woodblocks and making souvenirs from silk, wood, and Do paper will create opportunities for the public to directly participate in preserving and promoting heritage values. These activities not only enliven the Old Town space but also serve as a bridge for traditional cultural values to spread more widely in the community and to international tourists.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Trinh Hoang Tung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem Ward, emphasized the importance of heritage in the formation and development of Thang Long - Hanoi. Hoan Kiem Ward, with its central position and treasure trove of valuable relics, always considers the conservation and promotion of heritage values as a top priority. The series of activities is an opportunity to affirm the mission of turning heritage into a driving force for development, closely linked to the city's tourism and cultural industry development orientation. At the same time, it demonstrates the spirit of creativity, connecting tradition with modernity, awakening memories and enhancing community experiences.
With a variety of activities, with the participation of talented artisans, craftsmen, artists, painters and designers, the activities bring many unique experiences about the cultural heritage of Thang Long - Hanoi.
The series of cultural activities will take place until December 15, 2025.
