Strengthening care and protection for people with disabilities

QTO - In recent times, the work of caring for and supporting people with disabilities in the province has continued to receive attention and been implemented synchronously, contributing to ensuring social security and improving the quality of life for disadvantaged people.

According to statistics from the Department of Health , the whole province currently has 52,119 people with disabilities enjoying social protection policies, of which 12,392 people with extremely severe disabilities, 38,801 people with severe disabilities and 1,182 people with mild disabilities; 19,983 people with disabilities are waiting for consideration for the policy.

Localities regularly maintain inspection, review, and proper implementation of regulations on determining and re-determining the level of disability according to Consolidated Document No. 1346/VBHN-BLDTBXH, dated April 2, 2024. 100% of people with disabilities who are receiving social assistance policies are issued health insurance cards and receive free medical examination and treatment at medical facilities.

The province currently has 4 social assistance facilities that perform the task of nurturing and caring for social protection beneficiaries. As of October 2025, the units are caring for 489 beneficiaries. The health sector has directed and guided the facilities to effectively manage, care for and rehabilitate people with disabilities, contributing to helping them stabilize their lives and integrate into the community.
