Ho Chi Minh City supports Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai to overcome damage caused by storms and floods

On the afternoon of November 16, in Tuyen Quang province, comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and a working delegation from Ho Chi Minh City visited and encouraged people and supported the two provinces of Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai to overcome damage caused by storms and floods.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City donated 5 billion VND to support Tuyen Quang province. The delegation also presented gifts to students and households affected by storms and floods; and gave gifts to encourage volunteers and forces directly involved in supporting response and overcoming damage caused by storms and floods in Tuyen Quang province.

Ho Chi Minh City supports 5 billion VND for Lao Cai province to repair 2 schools damaged by storms and floods, including Tham Duong Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (3 billion VND) and Tham Duong Primary School (2 billion VND).

Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc conveyed the words of Comrade Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, to visit, share and encourage the Party Committee, government, Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai provinces and the people of the two provinces affected by natural disasters and floods.

Emphasizing that "HCMC belongs to the whole country, for the whole country and with the whole country", comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc said that the Party Committee, government, Vietnam Fatherland Front of HCMC and all classes of people in the city have joined hands, participated in contributing and promptly supporting people in places affected by natural disasters and floods, including Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai provinces.

According to comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Ho Chi Minh City supports localities with focus, key points, according to the needs and actual conditions of each locality; ensuring timeliness, right place, right time, right subject.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City supports the repair of bridges, roads, schools, and medical stations, contributing to stabilizing the lives of people in areas affected by natural disasters and floods.

In particular, through the support of Ho Chi Minh City in recent times, the two provinces of Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai have responsibly carried out the restoration of bridges, roads, medical stations and schools so that children's education is not interrupted. At the same time, medical care and health for children and people are better, preventing epidemics after natural disasters and floods.

Affirming the spirit of the fastest, most effective and best support in the best conditions of Ho Chi Minh City, comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc hoped that the two provinces of Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai would soon overcome the consequences of natural disasters, restore and stabilize people's lives, students would soon return to school and the two provinces would strive to overcome difficulties and continue to develop socio-economy.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tuyen Quang province Ma The Hong expressed his deep gratitude and pledged that Tuyen Quang province would use the supported resources for the right purposes, ensuring timeliness, effectiveness, publicity and transparency; helping people rebuild their houses and rebuild their lives.

“The affection and support of Ho Chi Minh City is a source of encouragement and strong strength for the people of all ethnic groups in Tuyen Quang province to overcome difficulties and losses, quickly overcome damage, restore production, and stabilize life after storms and floods,” said comrade Ma The Hong.

Previously, on November 9, comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee, as head of the Ho Chi Minh City working delegation, presented 23 billion VND to support Cao Bang province to overcome damage caused by storms and floods.

Of which, 10 billion VND will be used to build bridges to help people in remote areas travel more conveniently and stabilize their lives; 10 billion VND will be used to support the construction and repair of Kim Dong Kindergarten to quickly restore teaching and learning conditions after the storm; the remaining 3 billion VND will be allocated for emergency support activities to care for the lives of people in areas that suffered heavy damage.
