Military Region 5 visited and gave gifts to people affected by storm No. 13 in Song Cau ward.

On November 16, Major General Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Commander of Military Region 5, led a working delegation from the Military Region 5 Command to visit, give gifts and share difficulties with households in Song Cau ward that suffered heavy damage due to storm No. 13.

Joining the delegation were Colonel Cao Van Muoi, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5; Colonel Dinh Van Hung, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command; and leaders of local Party committees and authorities.

As soon as they arrived at Song Cau ward, the working group coordinated with local authorities to directly visit families that suffered heavy losses, grasp the situation, and encourage people to soon stabilize their lives.

As a locality located on the path of storm No. 13, Song Cau ward suffered heavy damage when many houses were damaged, collapsed, and had their roofs blown off; people's boats and aquaculture cages were swept away and seriously damaged, making people's lives very difficult.

Sharing the losses of the locality, the working group presented 5 gifts, each worth 3 million VND, to the most severely affected households. In addition, the group also supported the locality with 3 tons of rice and 700 sets of clothes to promptly distribute to local people to soon stabilize their lives.

Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Major General Tran Thanh Hai said: "Military Region 5 always accompanies the local government and people in preventing, responding to, and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. At the same time, we hope that people will maintain their spirit, unite to overcome difficulties, and soon restore their lives."
