Specialized search and rescue dogs were also deployed to approach the scene of the landslide.

On the morning of November 16, at the scene of the landslide in Hung Son commune ( Da Nang city), the armed forces of Military Region 5 continued to expand the search area for missing victims. Colonel Do Xuan Hung, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Military Region, was present to command from early morning, grasp the situation and coordinate all forces in complex terrain conditions with thick mud.

To speed up the search, Military Region 5 mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers to coordinate with the police and local militia to the scene of the landslide. Notably, many specialized search and rescue dogs were also deployed, utilizing their superior sniffing ability to detect traces at places that are difficult for humans and machines to access.

At the same time, flycams are used to survey from above, helping to localize suspicious points and shorten search time in the field.

Despite the unfavorable weather conditions and difficult terrain, with the spirit of "all for the people's service", officers, soldiers and even the service dogs are still trying their best, racing against time to search for the missing victims. Food, water and medical equipment are continuously supplied to ensure the endurance of the task force for many hours.

Previously, at around 9:30 a.m. on November 14, at the upstream area, about 250 meters from the local dam and Ga Ry Border Guard Station (in Hung Son border commune, Da Nang city), a serious landslide occurred. The rock and soil from the mountain top poured down like a waterfall, burying some of the local farming houses and more than 200 meters of road.

Authorities recorded that 3 Put village residents went to work on the fields and lost contact, and were suspected to be buried. In addition to the loss of human lives, the landslide also damaged 3 motorbikes, 9 cows and 15 hectares of land belonging to the residents.

Immediately after the incident, the City Military Command directed the Defense Command of Zone 2 - Thanh My and local forces to urgently approach the scene. More than 100 officers, soldiers, militia of Hung Son commune, Ga Ry Border Guard Station, commune police and local authorities were mobilized to carry out search and rescue work.

Faced with the risk of further landslides, authorities organized an emergency evacuation of 84/314 people in Glao village and 87/350 people in H Jun village to safety.
