Under the "Breeding Cattle" model, the 234th Air Defense Artillery Brigade (34th Corps), in coordination with the Party Committee and People's Committee of K'Dang commune ( Gia Lai province), handed over 200 breeding cows and supplies, worth over 7.4 billion VND, to 200 families classified as poor, near-poor, or ethnic minority households.
Through this model, the 234th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Brigade aims to increase household income by 20-25% per year and lift 15% of participating households out of poverty.

Mr. A Chưnh, from Rơng village, K'Dang commune, has been classified as a poor household for many years. He and his wife have no land for farming and have never raised cattle before. They do odd jobs every day, struggling to make ends meet. Now, they are overjoyed to be included in the "Cattle Breeding" model by the local government and the 234th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Brigade.
“My wife and I were taught how to raise breeding cows by the soldiers and commune officials, who also helped us build a barn and provided us with breeding cows, grass seeds, and initial feed. We are determined to raise the cows well so that we can have many calves and earn money to support our lives,” said Mr. A Chưnh.

Ms. Rơ Mah Liên, from La village, Ia Boòng commune (Gia Lai province), was deeply moved when she received a breeding cow from the 717th Economic-Defense Brigade (15th Army Corps). She told everyone: “Wherever the people are in difficulty, there are soldiers from the 15th Army Corps. The soldiers not only protect the people but also provide livelihoods so that the people can have a prosperous life.”
Attending the cattle distribution programs for people under Project 3 - Sub-project 3 of the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, conducted by the following units: 234th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Brigade (34th Army Corps); and the 72nd, 74th, 710th, and 717th Economic-Defense Brigades (15th Army Corps), we noted that local Party committees, authorities, and people highly appreciate the Army's livelihood models, which the people call "the Army's branded livelihood."

According to local leaders and residents, the livelihood models of the aforementioned units are implemented systematically, scientifically , and with high economic efficiency. From 2022 to the present, the 710 Economic-Defense Brigade has donated 108 breeding cows to people in three communes: Ia Mơ, Ia Pia, and Ia Lâu (Gia Lai province); the 74 Economic-Defense Brigade has donated 125 breeding cows to people in the area where the unit is stationed. Similarly, the 72 Economic-Defense Brigade has donated 142 breeding cows to people. The cattle herds of these units are all thriving, creating sustainable livelihoods and helping many ethnic minority households escape poverty.
To implement the "Breeding Cattle" model, the units have coordinated closely with local Party committees and authorities to carry out all stages, from reviewing and selecting participating households to organizing training and guidance to ensure people master cattle breeding techniques; at the same time, they have supported people in building barns, disease prevention methods, and exploiting feed sources for cattle.

The units also focused on selecting cattle breeds suitable for the local climate, feed sources, and farming practices. Contracts were signed with suppliers and businesses providing breeding cattle in a transparent and open manner, avoiding any losses or waste. During the implementation of the model, officials were assigned to regularly monitor, guide, and support the people.
Comrade Le Thi Hue, Secretary of the Party Committee of K'Dang commune, believes that with a systematic and rigorous approach, the "Breeding Cattle" model of the 234th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Brigade will contribute to helping K'Dang commune realize its poverty reduction goals, gradually complete the criteria for building new rural areas, and continuously improve the lives of the people.
