
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the People's Council of Ca Mau province Pham Van Thieu emphasized that this is a unique cultural - economic - tourism event, with profound significance in honoring the value of Ca Mau crab products, the pride of the southernmost land of the Fatherland.
The event is also an opportunity to promote the image, people and development potential of Ca Mau province to domestic and international friends.

Ca Mau crab is not only a high quality product with the leading output in the country, but also a cultural symbol, the crystallization of nature and the labor of the people of the land of Mui.
The shrimp - crab - fish farming models combined under the mangrove canopy have affirmed the right direction, bringing both economic efficiency and contributing to the protection of a sustainable ecological environment. This is the core value that Ca Mau always respects, preserves and promotes.

According to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam, Ca Mau crab is considered a product with high nutritional value, firm, delicious, sweet meat, and is popular in domestic and foreign markets.
Therefore, the product has been granted a certificate of trademark registration and geographical indication protection by the Department of Intellectual Property.
With the largest farming scale in the country (over 365 thousand hectares, accounting for about 78% of the country's area; output of over 36 thousand tons, accounting for about 53% of the country), Ca Mau is completely worthy of being the "crab capital of Vietnam", providing sustainable livelihoods for tens of thousands of households.
In particular, the province's shrimp - crab - forest model has been internationally recognized for its contribution to protecting mangrove forests, the "green shield" of the southernmost part of the country, demonstrating the path of green economic development, circular economy, and harmony between growth and environmental protection.

Ca Mau Crab Festival is held from November 16 to 22, including many diverse activities at the provincial level, aiming to enhance the brand of Ca Mau crab in the domestic and international markets.
At the same time, the event creates a space for trade connection, investment promotion, tourism and innovative startups.
