Opening up space for trade connection, investment promotion and tourism

The series of events will start from November 16 and last until November 22 with the festival space stretching across An Xuyen, Tan Thanh, Ly Van Lam, Hiep Thanh wards... with a series of unique activities. The highlight is the crab industry trade exhibition, startup products and OCOP (one product per commune) with a scale of 312 booths gathering businesses inside and outside the province. The booths introduce and promote typical products, connect businesses, promote cooperation, purchase and sale, and investment in the seafood sector, especially Ca Mau crab.
At the square area, visitors can enjoy hundreds of delicious dishes made from Ca Mau crabs along with many typical souvenir products. The event also includes a competition to set the record for "Largest Ca Mau Crab". Farmers in the province are invited to participate, and the record-breaking product will be honored on the evening of November 18.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ca Mau province Pham Van Thieu said: Ca Mau Crab Festival aims to enhance the brand of Ca Mau crab in the domestic and international markets, while creating a space for connecting trade, promoting investment, tourism and innovative startups.
Through the development process, the fishery industry has become the economic pillar of the province, making an important contribution to growth, export turnover and people's lives. In particular, Ca Mau crab - a product favored by nature, nurtured in a typical mangrove ecosystem - has become a famous brand, trusted and loved by domestic and foreign consumers.

Ca Mau crab is not only a high-quality product, leading the country in output with over 36 thousand tons/year, but also a cultural symbol, a crystallization of nature and the labor of the people of the Cape. The shrimp - crab - fish farming models combined under the mangrove canopy have affirmed the right direction, bringing economic efficiency and contributing to the protection of a sustainable ecological environment. This is the core value that Ca Mau always respects, preserves and promotes.
Ca Mau crab is considered a product with high nutritional value, firm, delicious, sweet meat and is favored by domestic and foreign markets. It has been granted a Certificate of Trademark Registration by the Department of Intellectual Property and is officially protected by geographical indications.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam emphasized: With a scale of more than 365 thousand hectares, accounting for about 78% of the area and an output of over 36 thousand tons, accounting for about 53%, Ca Mau has the largest crab farming area in the country. Ca Mau is completely worthy of being the "crab capital of Vietnam", bringing sustainable livelihoods to tens of thousands of households. In particular, the province's shrimp - crab - forest model has been recognized internationally, demonstrating the path of green economic development, circular economy, harmonizing growth and environmental protection, contributing to the implementation of Vietnam's commitment to net zero emissions by 2050 (Net-Zero 2050).
Creating a green economic icon

Within the framework of the festival, Ca Mau province also organized a series of events CamaUP'25 - Ca Mau Startup Festival 2025, taking place from November 16-17 at the Provincial Convention Center (No. 1 Le Duan, An Xuyen Ward). The highlight is the final round of the contest "Green seafood - sustainable development trend 2025", along with forums connecting startups and displaying innovative products.
The event gathered representatives of research institutes, universities, international organizations, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Provincial Youth Union, the Farmers' Association, the Women's Union of Ca Mau province, along with startup experts and young businesses. The goal is to create a bridge between creative ideas and investors, promote the spirit of "starting from crabs", contributing to the formation of a sustainable marine economic value chain.

In parallel, Ca Mau province will organize an international workshop on “Innovation for sustainable development of the Ca Mau – Vietnam crab industry”, with the participation of 120 domestic and foreign delegates. The workshop will take place at 8:00 a.m. on November 18 at the Ca Mau Provincial People’s Committee Hall (No. 2 Hung Vuong, Tan Thanh Ward).
