Mr. Duong Van Hung, who brought the "huge" batch of giant tiger prawns, said that these prawns were caught at sea, and the current market price is over 6 million VND/shrimp. Each mother tiger prawn can produce over 600,000 shrimp fry in one spawning session and can only be harvested a maximum of 3 times before being released back into the sea. "Keeping the mother prawns healthy to ensure the source of fry is both a requirement of the farming profession and a humane act of those working at sea," Mr. Hung said.

Many tourists saw shrimp of such large size for the first time. Mr. Nguyen Hoai Bao (45 years old, Ho Chi Minh City) shared that the fact that the breeding facilities release mother shrimp back to the sea after three spawnings not only helps maintain the natural source of shrimp but also shows responsibility for the marine environment of Ca Mau.

With more than 416,000 hectares of aquaculture, Ca Mau is considered the "capital" of shrimp and crab in the country. This year's crab festival is not only an opportunity to promote the strengths of the local marine economy , culture and tourism, but also an opportunity for the province to connect with domestic and foreign businesses, expanding the market for typical products of the southernmost region of the country.
