Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025 is considered an important series of art - cultural events, a bridge connecting heritage with contemporary creativity, contributing to promoting the image of the thousand-year-old capital and affirming Hanoi's position as a UNESCO creative city.
After 2 weeks of organization from November 1 to 16, the Festival ended with many important achievements, affirming the international stature of the biggest cultural event in the capital of the year.

Many international activities created special impressions, including: International Workshop and Performance Exchange of Tug-of-War Rituals and Games (celebrating 10 years of UNESCO recognition); the art program "Eternal Moment" at Hanoi Museum with the participation of Swiss composer Dominique Barthassat; the program "Heritage Convergence" at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam also created a buzz when gathering the cultural values of three capitals: Thang Long, Hue , Hoa Lu with representatives of the Central Highlands provinces.
Not only honoring heritage, the Festival also shows strong potential in bringing heritage into contemporary life. By combining tradition and modernity, the event contributes to promoting the cultural industry in a sustainable direction. Programs such as “Hundred Flowers Walking on the Heritage Road”, the workshop “Application of Heritage in Creativity”, or creative craft workshops have opened up new approaches, turning the Festival products into unique cultural values.

This year's festival marked by many impressive numbers, including: Lasting 16 days (from November 1 to 16), attracting nearly 200,000 visitors and nearly 1 million social media views, nearly 40,000 channel followers; tug-of-war event with the participation of 8 Vietnamese communities and Gijisi Tug-of-war Association (Korea); the largest puppetry festival ever gathering 19 troupes with nearly 800 artists.
Activities at the Hanoi Museum also attracted tourists when welcoming nearly 25,000 visitors during the Ao Dai Tourism Festival. The special national relic of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam attracted 75,000 visitors to experience. This success has proven that heritage is a sustainable development resource for the capital.
Notably, the opening night stage on November 7 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel relic site applied for the first time a 360-degree stage model with the symbol of Thang Long Tu Tran, ensuring performance space for 1,000 actors, a new step forward in organizing mass events in the capital.
The Festival has contributed to arousing the creativity of the people of the Capital, encouraging each person to become a "Creative Subject". Thereby, carrying out the mission of connecting the thousand-year heritage with contemporary life, opening a new creative cycle for the Capital. The success of the event is the clearest proof of the spirit of innovation on the basis of tradition, and at the same time a solid foundation for the Festival to become an annual cultural event of international stature.

Also on this occasion, representatives of the Hanoi People's Committee and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports awarded certificates to outstanding artisans, individuals and units that contributed to the Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025.
Looking to the future, the Thang Long – Hanoi Festival 2026 is expected to have the theme “Quintessence of Hanoi – Global Connection”, expressing the aspiration to turn Hanoi into a heritage city, where the quintessence of Thang Long converges, exchanges and connects with the world cultural flow.
