
Starting from Hanoi National University, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the colorful traditional parade moves through the streets around Hoan Kiem Lake and Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, creating a vibrant cultural space in the middle of Hanoi's autumn.

The parade gathered more than 1,000 participants, including: Artisans of Trach Xa craft village, the homeland of traditional ao dai sewing; the project group of the Vietnamese costume festival "Bach Hoa Bo Hanh"; Hoan Kiem ward; the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club of Hanoi city and other units along with a large number of people and tourists.


The parade formations recreate the unique cultural values of the nation through each period, from the five-panel ao dai, the four-panel ao dai, the ancient costumes of the Le - Nguyen dynasties, to modern ao dai designs with a breath of integration, demonstrating the sustainable, creative and unique development of Vietnamese culture.

The parade was divided into many groups according to themes: Vietnamese traditional costumes through the ages; traditional costumes of 54 ethnic groups on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of "Independence - Freedom - Happiness"; traditional costumes of the Ly - Tran - Le - Nguyen dynasties; ASEAN traditional costumes group on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Vietnam joining ASEAN; community group responding to "Hundred Flowers Walk".


Each block has its own unique character, creating a colorful journey of memories, bringing people and tourists back to the flow of national history.

Nguyen Thi Huong Giang (19 years old, student of Hanoi Pedagogical University 2) said that this was the first time she participated in the parade and was part of the parade of 54 ethnic groups. Wearing the typical costume of the Pu Peo ethnic group, Huong Giang felt extremely proud and honored to be chosen by the Organizing Committee to participate in the event.


The parade passed through famous historical sites and landmarks of the capital such as Turtle Tower, Ly Thai To Monument, King Le Thai To Temple, Hanoi People's Committee headquarters...

Children in traditional ao dai also became a joyful highlight of the parade, evoking the image of successive generations and a way to convey a lesson in preserving cultural identity from childhood.


The parade blocks received a warm welcome from people and tourists standing on both sides of the street, creating a bustling, joyful atmosphere.

This is the activity that concludes the exciting days of the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival with extremely rich and meaningful activities, attracting positive response from the community and high spread in society.
Through this program, the Capital Tourism Department wishes to honor and promote the intangible cultural heritage of Ao Dai, converging and spreading the cultural value of Vietnamese Ao Dai; arousing national pride and love of Ao Dai among the people and tourists; linking the preservation and promotion of heritage values with tourism development.
