Strong cold air is about to spread to the North, the Central region will have very heavy rain

(Dan Tri) - The hydrometeorological agency said that the total rainfall from tonight until the end of the night of November 18 in Hue, Da Nang, eastern Quang Ngai and Gia Lai will be 300-600mm, locally over 800mm.

On November 15, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that a strong cold air mass is moving south. It is forecasted that around November 17, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast and North Central regions, then affect the Northwest and North Central regions.

According to the forecast, on November 17-18, the Northern region will have rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places. From the night of November 17, the Northern and North Central regions will turn cold, with some places in the mountainous areas of the North experiencing severe cold.

The lowest temperature in this cold air mass in the North and North Central regions is commonly 12-15 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas it is below 10 degrees Celsius.

Accuweather predicts that in the coming days, temperatures in the North and North Central regions will drop sharply. In some mountainous areas above 1,500m, temperatures may drop as low as 5-10 degrees Celsius.

The hydrometeorological agency said that on November 15, the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang will have rain, showers and scattered thunderstorms with rainfall of 10-30mm, with some places having heavy rain of over 50mm.

It is forecasted that from tonight to the night of November 16, the area from South Quang Tri to Da Nang, the eastern part of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall from 100-200mm, locally over 300mm.

According to the forecast, on the day and night of November 16, the western provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will have moderate to heavy rain with common rainfall of 40-70mm, locally very heavy rain over 150mm.

The hydrometeorological agency said that from November 17 to the end of the night of November 18, the Hue and Da Nang areas, the eastern part of Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 200-450mm, locally over 550mm.

In the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri, the eastern part of Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa provinces, the rainfall is generally 100-250mm, locally over 350mm. In the western part of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, the rainfall is generally 60-130mm, locally over 200mm.

The hydrometeorological agency said that the total rainfall from the night of November 15 to the end of the night of November 18 in Hue, Da Nang, eastern Quang Ngai and Gia Lai was generally 300-600mm, locally over 800mm in some places.

In the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri, the eastern part of Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa provinces, the total rainfall is generally 150-350mm, with some places receiving over 500mm. In the western part of Quang Ngai to Dak Lak provinces, the total rainfall is generally 100-200mm, with some places receiving over 350mm.

It is forecasted that from November 19, widespread heavy rain will continue to occur in the Da Nang area and provinces from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa.

In addition, on November 16-18, the Southern region will have moderate rain and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 50-100mm, locally over 150mm.
