In 2018, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thuy boldly switched to a high-tech super-intensive shrimp farming model. To date, she owns more than 100 ponds lined with tarpaulins and roofs, applying the most advanced technology available today.

“As a farmer, I understand the hardships of shrimp farmers. The farming season is not always favorable, and erratic weather can easily cause damage to farmers. Therefore, I often share with farmers my experience and the technical advances that I apply to my ponds. Now, with a high-tech model, standard breeds, support engineers and modern equipment, the success rate is up to 80-90%. Shrimp farmers are excited, and I am happy too,” Ms. Thuy shared.

Thanks to the application of science and technology in production, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thuy's high-tech shrimp farming model has achieved a success rate of 80-90%.

Not only enriching herself, Ms. Thuy always wonders how to help shrimp farmers in the area raise shrimp effectively, increase income, and improve their lives. Therefore, besides sharing experiences, she also cooperates with seafood export enterprises to buy shrimp for people. Currently, her enterprise is buying shrimp at a stable price compared to the market for about 1,000 ponds.

“My facility is creating jobs for about 100 workers, with a fairly high salary, from 10-15 million VND/person/month. I always want my family and my fellow countrymen to develop the economy together and stabilize their lives. Therefore, I proactively cooperate with purchasing units to bring the best prices to farmers. I always keep in mind: whenever people need, I will be there to purchase,” Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thuy confided.

Currently, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thuy owns 8 OCOP products.

In addition to being good at raising shrimp, Ms. Thuy is also enthusiastic about developing local products. Since 2020, taking advantage of available raw materials such as freshwater shrimp, goby fish, whiteleg shrimp..., along with the unique salt products of her hometown, she has created OCOP products that attract consumers near and far.

“I am lucky to be born and raised in the countryside of Long Dien - a place blessed with abundant aquatic resources and rich salt flavor. These two specialties have inspired me to create delicious OCOP products with distinctive flavors. This is also the motivation for me to continue developing products, bringing Long Dien specialties further in the future," Ms. Thuy expressed.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thuy's OCOP products are rated by consumers as delicious and flavorful.

Active and sharing in economic development, Ms. Thuy is also compassionate. Every year, she contributes from 100 to 200 million VND to social security activities in the locality.

With her continuous efforts, in 2022, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thuy was voted by the Final Council of the Vietnam Farmers' Pride Program in the list of 100 Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers. Ms. Thuy's diligence, daring to think, daring to do, and sense of responsibility to the community have contributed to spreading and motivating local people to strive for economic development./.
