Western tourists are overwhelmed by thousands of people parading in ao dai in Hanoi.

On the afternoon of November 15, at Hoan Kiem Lake walking street, 1,400 people participated in the Ao Dai parade, attracting the attention of many Hanoi and international tourists.

Accordingly, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the parade passed through the streets around Hoan Kiem Lake and Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, with the participation of more than 1,000 people including artisans from Trach Xa craft village; the "Bach Hoa Bo Hanh" Vietnamese Costume Festival Project Group; Hoan Kiem Ward; and the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club of Hanoi City.

The colorful parade of traditional costumes of all kinds from five-panel ao dai, four-panel ao dai, ancient costumes, modern ao dai, created a cultural space imbued with national identity, attracting a large number of people and international tourists to admire.

Ann Fitzroy, a tourist from Northern Ireland who visited Vietnam for three weeks, said that her first experience of the Ao Dai Festival in Hanoi overwhelmed her because it was so beautiful and vibrant. She especially loved the diversity and richness of the brightly colored Ao Dai designs.

She shared that she was very impressed with the energetic yet gentle and comfortable festival atmosphere. At the same time, the female tourist was very excited to see for the first time the traditional ao dai with all the designs imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity.

“If I have the chance, I really want to wear Ao Dai once in my life. In my homeland, traditional costumes are more like those for dancers,” said Ann Fitzroy.

For Ann Fitzroy, the Ao Dai parade fully conveyed the beauty and heritage of traditional cultural features in Vietnam, especially making a strong impression on foreign guests like her.

The 2025 Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Parade is the activity that closes the exciting days of the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival with extremely rich and meaningful activities, attracting positive response from the community and high spread in society.

Through this program, the Capital Tourism Department hopes to arouse national pride and love for Ao Dai among the people and tourists.

At the same time, promote the image of Hanoi tourism while preserving Vietnamese cultural identity and actively integrating into international culture in the new era.
