After two weeks in Vietnam, passing through Ninh Binh and Cat Ba, two tourists Gaia and Amira from Italy shared that what impressed them most when visiting this neighborhood was its unique difference.

The street had a completely different appearance from the places Gaia and Amira had been to in Vietnam. The streets were filled with colorful, shimmering lanterns, evoking a bustling and attractive festival atmosphere.

“In our country, we have some festivals that children love, like Halloween or Christmas, but the experience here has a very unique feeling. We also tried moon cakes, although the flavor is quite strong and strong, it is very harmonious and delicious,” said Gaia.

As for Ms. Shir, a tourist from Israel who just arrived in Hanoi yesterday, she expressed that Hang Ma Street really made a strong impression on her. The whole street is covered in many colors with all kinds of colorful lanterns, lights, decorations and most prominent of all is the bright red color of the Vietnamese national flag flying everywhere.

At first, when she first arrived here, she was a bit overwhelmed by the vibrant festival atmosphere. However, after a day of sightseeing, she truly enjoyed and fully immersed herself in the festival atmosphere here.

“The festival here reminds me a little of the Yom Ha'atzmaut Independence Day in Israel, when people also take to the streets to have fun, soak up the jubilant atmosphere and the stalls are brightly lit and filled with decorations. However, the Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam is celebrated much more grandly and on a larger scale.

The most noticeable difference is that in Israel we do not have lanterns shaped like animals like dragons or fish. Despite the cultural differences, witnessing and experiencing the Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam really excited me,” she added.
