Provincial leaders directly command from the center of the flooded area.

From November 19 to early morning of November 20, prolonged heavy rains, combined with some reservoirs releasing water to regulate, caused river water levels to rise, causing landslides and floods, some places with very deep floods and large-scale isolation. In that situation, implementing the Prime Minister's telegrams and direct instructions from Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee promptly issued documents and held urgent meetings to lead and direct the entire provincial political system to proactively and urgently deploy plans to respond to floods and landslides; organize rescue and provide timely support to the people. The directives and telegrams were issued with the core content: Putting the task of protecting people's lives and safety first and foremost. The provincial leaders have strengthened the frontline command, assigned each member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee to directly go to hot spots and key areas such as Tay Nha Trang, Dien Dien, and communes downstream of the reservoir.

Love between army and people, solidarity between compatriots

In recent days, thousands of officers, soldiers, and shock troops have risked their lives to save people in deeply flooded and isolated areas. The forces of the Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police, Border Guard, Naval Region 4, and Special Forces Brigade 5 have become the core force, not afraid of danger, crossing deeply flooded roads to reach isolated areas. Rubber boats and rescue canoes have continuously cut through the water, bringing hundreds of trapped people, especially the elderly and children, out of deeply flooded areas such as Tay Nha Trang, Dien Dien, and Dien Khanh. The number of more than 15,000 officers and soldiers mobilized has demonstrated the unprecedented scale of disaster prevention and control work in Khanh Hoa. After the water receded, the military and police forces continued to support people in cleaning up their houses, schools, and medical facilities to soon bring people's lives back to normal.

In times of trouble, the spirit of compatriots and humanity spreads. At the flood epicenters, canoes, small boats, fishing boats, basket boats and even homemade buoys of local people have become effective rescue vehicles to reach deeply flooded houses. Young people who are familiar with the terrain, regardless of the danger, have swum and waded into the area to bring the elderly and children out of the floodwaters. The image of people helping each other, sharing each packet of noodles and bottle of water in the dark night has highlighted the spirit of "mutual love and support" of the Vietnamese people.

Currently, when the floodwaters have receded, the urgent task of the entire political system and all classes of people is to overcome the consequences of the flood and stabilize their lives soon. The Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee is the focal point for calling for and receiving tens of billions of VND and tons of necessities from organizations, individuals, and large enterprises inside and outside the province. "A piece of food when hungry...", from thousands of hot meals to dozens of tons of rice, drinking water... have helped warm the hearts of people in times of trouble.
