  • Ms. Thu said she sells vegetables at the old market in District 5. In recent days, seeing images and clips of people in the Central region suffering from floods, losing their homes, property and even their lives, the woman could not contain her emotions.

  • At 3:35 p.m. on November 23, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy (44 years old, from Binh Dinh) temporarily stopped folding clothes to have "lunch". The meal was bought and prepared by everyone at the gathering point for those who were hungry.
  • Ms. Thuy said she sells lottery tickets and supports her two children in school. Her hometown also had heavy rains, flooding houses, but the damage was not significant. Seeing the people in the Central region struggling with floods, she was unable to share her feelings because she was “powerless”.

  • By chance, on the morning of November 23, Ms. Thuy passed by this area and saw many people gathered to help load and unload goods for people in the flooded areas. She quickly ran to sell all the lottery tickets so she could come back to help.
  • “Normally, I finish selling until 2-3 pm, but today I sold very quickly to help people fold clothes. If I don’t have money, I can contribute a little effort, I am very happy,” Ms. Thuy shared.

  • At this gathering place, there are many stories like Mrs. Thuy's. They are workers, laborers, students, pupils from all over the place who came here. They do not know each other, but they all have the same heart for the people of Central Vietnam, which has been severely devastated by floods.
  • Boxes of instant noodles, milk, water, sausages, etc. were continuously brought in, making the hundreds of square meter warehouse gradually full, with the goods piled up like mountains. With the current situation, if the trucks were not transported away in time, the warehouse would have no more space to store them.

  • “The warehouse contains dozens of tons of food, while people in the Central region are starving, everyone is very sad. Fortunately, more vehicles have arrived to transport the goods, please wait for us,” Minh Dang said.
