In her opening speech, Ms. Le Nguyet Anh, wife of Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung , said that since 2014, the International Culinary Culture Festival has gone beyond the framework of a normal exchange activity to become a symbol of the spirit of friendship, sharing and international solidarity in Hanoi.
Each stall, each dish, each cultural story told through flavors contributes to lighting up bridges of connection – where national values meet, where understanding blossoms and where friendship between Vietnam and international friends is nurtured with sincerity and kindness.
“This year’s festival takes place at a time when many localities in Vietnam are suffering heavy losses due to natural disasters and floods. In the atmosphere of today’s event, we are even more inclined to think and feel for our compatriots who are facing difficulties,” Ms. Le Nguyet Anh affirmed.
According to the Foreign Minister's wife, the 2025 Festival carries greater significance than a cultural festival – it is a humanitarian act, a message of goodwill, an affirmation of the strength of international solidarity in challenging times.
“With the spirit of 'Connecting - Sharing - Spreading Love', this year's Festival attracts the attention and participation of embassies, international organizations, localities and Vietnamese enterprises. Your presence and cooperation today is the most vivid proof of the lasting friendship between the Vietnamese people and friends around the world,” Ms. Le Nguyet Anh emphasized.
With the extensive support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all participating units, this year's Festival has dedicated all its contributions to activities to support areas affected by natural disasters. That is the core humanitarian value that the International Food and Culture Festival always aims for: To make culture and cuisine become the bond that connects hearts, so that every sharing can overcome geographical distance and borders.
Ms. Le Nguyet Anh assessed that this year's program has a special meaning as it is held on the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day, November 23. "This is a moment for us to contemplate and honor the diverse beauty of national cultures - where each flavor not only reminds us of our homeland but also tells stories about the history, customs, art and soul of each nation. A journey of flavors is a journey of memories, emotions and mutual understanding," said Ms. Le Nguyet Anh.

“In recent days, historic floods have caused great damage to people and property, leaving behind many losses and sorrows. More than ever, the spirit of 'mutual love', the most beautiful value of the Vietnamese people, needs to be aroused and spread strongly,” Ms. Ha Thi Nga emphasized.
On behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vice President Ha Thi Nga called on the units participating in the Festival to promote the spirit of humanity and join hands to support people in flood-affected areas. Whether financial or in-kind contributions, big or small, each heart is a priceless source of encouragement to help people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Within the framework of the 2025 International Food and Culture Festival, the Organizing Committee has launched a charity gift-giving activity, aiming at people in provinces that suffered heavy losses due to storms and floods. The gifts, including financial support and essential items, were handed directly to local representatives. This is a practical gesture, demonstrating the spirit of "mutual love", while spreading the kindness and community responsibility of those working in foreign affairs, businesses and international friends in Vietnam.
The gift-giving ceremony took place solemnly but warmly, with the participation of delegates, spouses of leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, diplomatic agencies and international organizations. The words of encouragement and sharing were sent to the people in the flood-affected areas as a message of solidarity and companionship in overcoming difficulties, reminding that in times of difficulty, kindness and humanity are the source of strength to overcome natural disasters.
