Having graduated from the College of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine and having worked in the veterinary field for a time, Mr. Mạnh always had one burning desire: How to make his hometown more prosperous and prevent traditional crafts from fading away. The idea of "combining duck – the specialty that made Vân Đình famous – with pork sausage" came to him from a family meal. This idea initially met with skepticism from many, as no one had ever made duck sausage before. But Mr. Mạnh believed that: "If you don't dare to try, you'll never find anything new."
The first three months of his business were a series of failures: some batches were crumbly, others sticky, and some tasted like minced meat. Capital was scarce, and there were times he felt like giving up. But with perseverance and a love for his hometown craft, he continued to experiment, adjusting the recipe, selecting ingredients, and personally seasoning each batch. Finally, the first batch of duck sausage met the standards: crispy, chewy, flavorful, and with the intoxicating aroma of Van Dinh.
In 2021, he officially launched his business with the brand "Thuy Manh Duck Sausage". Within just a few months, the product was recognized as a 3-star OCOP product by Hanoi City. In 2023, the brand was further honored with the Vietnam Agricultural Gold Brand award and also achieved ISO 22000:2018 certification for food safety – proud milestones for someone who grew up in a traditional craft village.
Not stopping at duck patties, Mr. Mạnh continued to expand his product range with pork sausage, cinnamon-flavored sausage, duck meatballs, duck liver pâté, smoked duck patties, duck sticky rice cakes, etc. Many of these products have achieved OCOP 4-star certification, becoming familiar choices for families, restaurants, and the gift market. For him, each product is not just a dish but also a "bridge" between tradition and modernity, a way for the flavors of Vân Đình to reach the city and go further.
In the hustle and bustle of urbanization, Luong Tien Manh's entrepreneurial story is not only the journey of a young person persistently pursuing their passion, but also a testament to the enduring vitality of traditional craft village culture – contributing to spreading the renowned delicacies of Van Dinh culinary region throughout the country.
