Located at an altitude of over 2,000m, Y Ty is not only a unique tourist destination but is also gradually becoming an attractive destination with famous mountain peaks in the trekking world such as Lao Than, Nhiu Co San...

Not only the scenery, Y Ty also attracts tourists by the unique culture of the H'Mong ethnic group. The ancient houses and the rusticity and friendliness of the local people are the "soft brand" that makes tourists want to come back.

The road to Y Ty is now more convenient than before, most suitable for high-chassis vehicles. Low-chassis vehicles can go but it will be more difficult because some sections are under repair and paved with gravel. From Hanoi, visitors can take a sleeper bus to Lao Cai and then rent a motorbike to explore , or drive on their own along the route: Hanoi - Lao Cai - Ban Vuoc - Muong Hum - Y Ty.

Ngai Thau Thuong is an ideal cloud hunting spot, where clouds and mountains blend together like a white silk strip across the sky.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Y Ty commune, said that after merging the two communes of Y Ty and A Lu, the expanded administrative boundaries have brought new opportunities to this land in developing tourism products.

The sea of clouds is usually thickest from late October to the end of December. Thanks to the large difference in day and night temperatures and the cold climate typical of an altitude of over 2,300m, Ngải Thầu Thượng has clouds almost every morning, especially when there is fog at night and little wind.

Clouds continuously form from dawn, overflowing the mountainside and covering the roofs of the H'Mong people, turning this area into one of the most prominent cloud hunting spots in Y Ty in early winter.

According to locals, this year the clouds have appeared more regularly and lasted longer than usual. There were days when I stood right in my yard and couldn’t see the road below.

Ms. Ly Thi Do, a small homestay owner, said that in recent weeks, the number of guests has increased sharply. Weekends are usually full, many groups have to stay in neighboring villages and then go up early in the morning to hunt for clouds. The road is difficult but everyone wants to arrive at the right time when the clouds are beautiful. Photo: An Vi
